burundiMemberDont know him, but in the future if your dealing with someone you dont know, escrow.com might be a good option. The last deal I did through them was $15k and the fee’s were only $106.75.. very reasonable.

burundiMemberOh ok, just trying to help..
I think the difference is with escrow, he will never see the money. The seller will have to turn over the site to you before escrow releases any money to him, where as I can make a brand new paypal account, pretend to sell you a website, stall with you for 5 days until my money is out of paypal, then vanish… pp buyer protection only protects you if paypal is able to recover funds from the account you sent to.

Good to know.
I thought the fees were 10% – way too much.
BTW – Isn’t $900 for a pr4 rather cheap?

Inactive$900 for a site that they claimed made them 100k … if it sounds too good to be true it probably is!

InactiveWow, he waited five years to launch his scam, that’s dedication.

cashforaccountMemberThe domain may not be even as old as he says, anyone checked domain records?
Yeah, I would have not done a deal at that price, especially if the domain made as much as he claimed,. $900 is very cheap.
If you could wait a year to get your money back the domain should have be worth somewhere around $25,000 at least.

semprofessionalsMemberThe site looks terrible. There’s no way it could have been profitable. He obviously did a lot of SEO to get his PR and Alexa up.

alvin jonesMemberafter a lot of emails and phone calls , the site was SOLD , to me (:
Few tips:
1. Never pay with paypal – they will not help.
2. Always use escrow – it will save you time , money and stress. Thanks for everyone.
