abbykungMemberThe DOJ (Department of Injustice) strikes again! How can they just seize domain names? I guess because they are all .com’s and .com is American? Very bad news. The only light at the end of the tunnel is the stripped down online poker bill that was passed in Nevada. Fingers crossed it actually passes and this nightmare is over soon.

InactiveBelow is the image I see when visiting BetEd.com – looks like the DOJ spruced up their landing page design. :nono:

dslavaMemberThese books all need to switch their domains over to .eu or .ca asap. Those are two domains that the US doesn’t control from everything I read. BoDog proved a few years ago that they could adapt on the fly when some judgement awarded their domain to some huckster and they moved over to BoDogLife.com for awhile. Therefore, I’m sure Diamond and BookMaker will adjust as well. However, that domain name Bookmaker.com is worth something in name alone simply for the keyword so that’s a big hit regardless if they move over to another domain extension. Anyway, the only thing this will affect in my opinion is you will see a lot of online gambling sites switching their maerkting and SEO over to .ca or .eu extensions asap.

daniel asanteMemberI’m an USA citizen I can go to jail for running an affiliate business with gambling sites?

casinobonuzMemberSo now I dont see affiliates option on their new site ? Does that mean I will lose my 500 players, most of them US players

one2MemberIt’s not surprising. They have been slow paying for months.
Also, why is BetCris which owns the other two still up and running when it accepts US players.May 24, 2011 at 9:41 am #816399
chazMemberI got the same image on the bookmaker.com page as well. After their last week’s stunt, stopping commissions for all poker players that you have, this would be another big upset for the remainder of their affiliates.
This in a way is, what goes around comes around.
Bottom line, to me this looks like, clearing up the ground for something or someone new.

S.SchmidtMemberIronically, islampolicy, a website that openly incites hate and violence towards any “infidels” and encourages/coordinates terrorist activity is up and running without a hitch.
What’s wrong with the USA? They shut down .com websites that take a few bets from Americans, but won’t shut down the .com websites that espouse hate and violence?
Also, seizing domain names in this manner sets a dangerous precedent…
Suppose a court in China finds Amazon.com to be in violation of its tax policy. Could that court then shutdown Amazon.com?
Just tidbits for thought…

InactiveJax, I agree with you.
I did remove the link – we don’t want to pass any link juice or send visitors to a site like that.

How stupid this action is. They found out that after so many years now they are unhappy with so many websites/poker rooms available online based in US. Is it only about the money or it is some kind stupid action like in “Casino” movie with Robert De Niro and his gambling licences. Passion in destroying the industry is terrible for me
Why they don’t want to legalize it and start to earn more money on taxes
May 26, 2011 at 4:36 pm #816483
daniel asanteMemberThat is exactly my thoughts, instead of prohibiting gambling they should earn a lot of money in taxes especially with their problems in the economy.
