Affiliate Managers

I believe some programs have clauses in places which stop affiliate managers becoming affiliates, while they are an affiliate manager.

As a past affiliate manager for a few casino and poker programs, what works for one affiliate on one program, may not work for the same affiliate on another program.

Also when talking with affiliates you get very diverse ideas and strategies among a few thousand affiliates, some ideas may work for one advertiser, but not of another.

Conversely if an affiliate becomes an operator.. ? Works both ways in my opinion.

I think good luck to anyone who can make it into this business, and can make a living out of it.

I agree.

Many affiliates who become super affiliates (esp in the poker vertical) also become operators of skins. So yeh it works both ways.

Best advice I can give it simply work with operations/affiliates who you trust.

Different levels of access would exist.

The information that the actual affiliate software collects would also differ.

I would say the smaller operations the AM has access to 99% of all campaigns & stats. The larger operations may restrict this on a need to know basis, so the AM would be restricted in seeing campaigns and stats outside their accounts.

The owners of the operation can def. see or analyze who are their best affiliates and see how they are generating revenue and may direct their AM on what affiliates they need to partner with.

Honestly I wouldn’t worry about an AM seeing your stats. They need to. How else can they direct you on converting better & generate more revenue.

It’s a partnership!

If they have the time do run a “successful” side affiliate business plus manage 100+ affiliate accounts – they really are a superman or a wonder women.

Trust me, affiliates are all different and use different promotional tactics. They want to stay in good graces with AM’s, so they communicate. Am’s learn from the best. How they use that infromation is up to them.

This works the other way round as well. Most of the times and in more numbers the new affiliates learn from the AM’s experience and knowledge.

I doubt a successful affiliate will reveal what he does to anyone, at least not to the AM. The only info the AM would have is the players values and volumes that his/her affiliates’ generate. That can be used as a guideline, but not to kickstart a successful affiliate business.
