Very old news Nathan Skype is searching for alternatives confident it will live on. They had breached their licensing agreement with Ebay in late 2008. But Skype argues it was Ebay who breached by altering the source code when bought back in 2005.

    Just a thought

I think there has been news on this lately but from the article it seems like there are some new developments. One think to keep in mind is that AT&T ust agreed to allow VOIP services, which means skype will be allowed on the iphone.

It is interesting to see how this plays out. Maybe free isn’t as great a business model as we once thought.

Thanks for your response, Greek39. I know this story has been developing for a while … you’ll notice that I posted it to the General discussion page and not “News”. Just wanted to see what people thought about it, or if people were aware of it.

At any rate, the Washington Post article has some new info on what’s been happening. It’s an ongoing story that’s getting more interesting … and I wouldn’t really call it “old news” until it’s been resolved.

I certainly agree Nathan an important topic indeed. I never used Skype or any other chat devices have enough toys to play with lol.

Defiantly appreciate Skype’s for its positive stance against World Poverty by enabling all peoples to discuss this ongoing problem.

So is Skype important? You bet!
