hendrikMemberhmm, this is nothing new. The power of the internet is such a wonderful thing until it affects your business.
The only way I have found to get round it is to release the passwords an hour before your tournament. They cant get them up on the site in time.
I know this isnt great for your tournament players, but it is the only way I have found round this problem.

Their sites’ traffic is based on stolen and manipulated content and this should be dealt with at the source – i.e. potential income from their improper conduct. Sever their affiliations and they won’t have motivation to maintain their sites.

hendrikMemberWell, you can take those steps yourself by contacting the affiliate programs they are using. Trust me, no one else is going to do it for you.
In my experience many of these sites didnt have affiliate links, but it may have changed as these tournamnet leechers got more savvy.

innoneMemberThe thing is that the gambling operator which is organizing the freerolls does not lose money I believe as the freeroll money pool is fixed. It is just the players, who get a lower expected value by playing in the tournament, and this is rather hard to measure or even notice for the players, is it not?

hendrikMemberits you who loses money as an affiliate, as none of those players are tied to your trackers. Your players will eventually see no benefit in your private tournaments as they are esentially public by the time they start.
Like I said I have only found one way of beating this problem and that is delivering the password within an hour of the tournament. Remember it is members of your mailing list that are posting on these forums, or at least passing the information on.

InactiveWe’re actually paying for most of our freerolls ourselves and although players sign up they’re a fraction of the masses of leechers that sign up as well.
I did contact two affiliate programs they’re using (should I name them?). Here are their replies:
a. I sat down with the poker team earlier and discussed this issue and we are of the same opinion as yourself that this site is one that we should distance ourselves from. I am going to talk to my director about it this afternoon and when I have his feedback I will let you know what our decision is. (that’s from 7 days ago)
b. I understand your concerns and like I did state before that I have stopped him from doing this with our site, and other sites that he promotes need to deal with this affiliate direct and try to get him to stop this. I have done my part that has stopped all such actions on my site and will continue to do so with all affiliates. In regards to stopping affiliation with him, well we made the deal and he is obeying all agreements made between us, so therefore we have no grounds onto which to terminate the contract.
These are lame replies. I expect affiliate programs to be proactive as they know exactly who they’re dealing with here and what those sites do to draw traffic.

InactiveApparently there are many more sites doing this and also in other languages like Italian, Russian, French, Spanish etc. As I investigate further I uncover loads of forums and sites that routinely steal and encourage their members/moderators to steal passwords from other sites. Like a recent post in 4apoker.info’s forum inviting members to apply as mods and one of their ‘tasks’ is to ‘post freeroll passwords’.
I discovered that the sh*thead that owns 4apoker.info also owns these sites (in Chinese):
– freerollpassword.blogspot.com (another passwords stealing site)
– pukevip.com
– 4apoker.net
– dafapokercn.com (an iPoker Chinese white label??)
– boylepuke.com (a Chinese translation of boylepoker.com)
– pokercn1.infoDoes anyone know who this guy is or how to reach him?
