OK I thought I would help out here as there is no response.
If this is your first try at a website then you have done OK in the fact that you have made something happen and you got it online. However, what you really need to ask yourself is will your creatation compete with other sites out there and get you to the top of the search engines?
What I would advise to do is take a look at other sites in this sector by searching Google et al and check out the various styles of sites out there. Look at designs, themes, images, navigation and all the important factors that go into making a successful website. I am not saying copy what others are doing…this wont get you anywhere, but use it as a starter point.
The theme of the site changes every page which can be confusing for visitors, you need to make them feel more welcome and comfortable in their surroundings.
Yes this is my first try at a web site, so I do appreciate the feedback. I have reviewed a very very large number of gaming sites. Quite literally 100’s of hours of research before I ever made the decision. With all the gaming websites out there (and there are alot) I decided to build mine with a different look to draw the curiosity factor into play. Do you think that was a bad idea? If so that means that I have to change the whole website completely. I am confused by what you mean by the theme changes from page to page, and now I’m concerned, because I have respect for the website you represent. My website is not complete yet , but I find it much easier to navigate through than many others out there. Please don’t think I am being defensive, I just thought I was doing at least ok. But again I respect experience over a desire. But I do know for a fact if you put the two together, success happens rather you want it to or not. What I am saying is if you have any specific suggestions, they will not be overlooked or shrugged off. I have put alot of time into this, I don’t intend to quit. I’ve had alot of help getting as far as I have so far. It would be great to get advice from an expert [email protected]First I want to congratulate you for your first site …
I have some tips for you … Hope you’ll find them useful :
1 ) The first and most important on-page factor for seo ranking is the page title … currently you don’t have any titles … “index” for the homepage … “More Sites” for the poker articles … Write longer titles with keywords … For example : “Poker Articles – Find The Best Online Poker Articles” …. For the news : “Poker News – No.1 Resource For World Wide Poker News” … etc. (Each page should have different title)
2 ) Add meta description and meta tags to each page : http://www.dealmeinonline.com/
3 ) Buy sharper images : http://www.imagestockphoto.com – Cost around $1 per image … The Images in your site looks bad.
4 ) Remove the calender from the right-upper side … It’s too big and it’s useless …
*** The horrible design (My opinion ) of your site make it less trusted … As a user I’ll never give you my email… Maybe u can give 1 or 2 chapter of your ebook for free … And for the rest of the ebook users will need to subscribe.

In my opinion, I think you need to start from scratch. I’ve seen people mention this site in the past which could really help: xxhttp://www.gamblingtemplates.com/free-templates.php. You can use one of these free gambling templates so you’ll have a good layout to work with.

I apologize if I am rude, But then the first look of the site was awkward. and I dint understand why there is a calender and a time on the left. You, could have used that space for some thing else like a logo. Then other links on the are pretty good.

i would agree with one poster here. try getting a template design and use it to add your material..
on another side the first site i ever built i used joomla. Its so simple to use and it will take care of your seo with some seo add ons automatically until you learn advanced website building..
But yes we all start somewhere and your on the right track!! Keep it up mate.
