EvelinessaMemberYES! and it drives me crazy! I thought it was some misunderstanding though, because I recently sold my car who’s extended warranty was set to expire in 2010. Nice to know i’m not the only one being harassed

Just curious if I was the only one.

Does Anyone else on here get constant telemarketing calls saying “This is the second reminder that your car warranty is about to expire”. ?
Just curious,
Chris
Definately!
Also satellite tv and credit card services.
I signed up on the do not call list a few weeks ago and I still get some but not as many.
I hate when they mask the caller id.January 23, 2009 at 6:19 pm #793560
vladcizsolMemberI am on the National Do Not Call list also and it stopped 80% of the mortgage people who were a really nusiance, but the damned car warranty guys are undaunted.

InactiveAre these real people on the phone or a recording?
My mother hates telemarketers and if one calls our house, we never hear the end of it.. So i am constantly bickering with her to just hang up the phone..
Well, last time someone called from the house with no steps asking for someone named John (who obviously had the phone number before we did as we moved house and got a new number), no matter how many times my mum told them noone called John lived there, the woman wouldn’t let her go, so I guess listening to what I had told my mum, she said “ok ill get him for you” and walked into the laundry and left the phone on the washing machine.. my sister walked in there 10 minutes later and the lady was still on the phone waiting…
Just a thought

I think if you do that a couple of times they wont call back

InactiveI hate telemarketers, telemarketing is banned in Canada (Canadians are lucky now), I hope more countries will follow it. :sarcasm:

InactiveThat doesnt help me.. they still call my mobile…
Also I should have mentioned that the home phone number is a private number, unlisted..
Another thing you could try is the Jerry Seinfeld manouvre.
JS: “Can I get your home number so I can call you back later?”
TM: “Oh we dont give out our numbers here”
JS: “Oh i guess you dont like people calling you at home?”
TM: “Well, yeah”
JS: “Well now you know how I feel”
Hang up.Gold.

InactiveWow you guys are getting them too? I have since last April and its been worse over the last month. Some of the numbers I get are:
630-809-3484
6:12 1/22/09702-554-1452
1:01 1/20/09702-520-1124
12:49 1/22/09All wanting to give me an extended warrenty. I am on the DNC List from day 1 having this number. I’m still trying to figure out how they got me cell #. Pressing 7 to remove from the list does not do crap either except confirm someone is at the number they called. All I can get from research is most of them is comming from a company in St. George Miss. A company that has a multitude of alias so pinning them down is nearly impossible. I wish I could get them to stop. I may change my phone number just because of these clowns.

InactiveWhenever i get phone calls on my mobile i always ask them how they got my number, and then tell them to transfer me to a manager.. Then tell them to remove me from the list… Usually that works, otherwise you could leave the phone on the washing machine.. eventually it will get too expensive to call you and they will stop.
