The suit was initiated by two California residents, one of whom lost a large sum ($100K) of money gambling online, claiming that a number of online entities, of which Google and Yahoo! were included, violated state law by posting ads from online gambling companies.

The lobby group with the most realistic chance of getting the UIEGA dropped was the financial sector, because the law effectively deputizes them without compensation. then they accepted a 700 billion $ bail-out so…
So maybe Google will take a crack at it. Probably that the bid price for financial terms has dropped significantly over the past year, so legalizing online gambling and PPC bidding on gambling-related search terms would help cover that loss of revenue. fingers crossed. I think it depends how gambling PPC does in the UK.
