Inactiveyes and no.
If used correctly it functions just like a regular HTML link that passes value to a specific range of articles.
Sadly many people use it wrong which results in doublicated content or internal URL’s without any power.

InactiveIs it the Tag “Cloud” you are talking about, I’d be very interested to know what is the wrong way of using it as I have recently starting using it with WordPress and have to admit I’m not 100% sure how to properly use it but wasn’t aware that it could be used incorrectly! :whoa:

Inactivehi,
Tag Cloud are used by many popular website like Flickr, del.icio.us, Blogs etc, i assume they are keyword or category labels, and they can help visitors find items which have something in common.
I think they are usefull if you they provide visibility, easy for users to find contents and search friendly.November 4, 2008 at 7:44 am #785328Anonymous
Inactivejust make sure that the URL’s that the tag cloud links are pages you have build, and isn’t created automatically by some system. This will give the best effect.

InactiveWhile tag clouds are (arguably – I don’t like them myself) good for user navigation, I wouldn’t have thought they were the optimal way of distributing pagerank/helping rankings on the basis that they aren’t contextual. My belief is that linking in paragraphs or sentences of text that have relevant content to the link is probably a better method.

Well as far as I understand it WordPress creates the tag Cloud form the articles I have written so that should be OK shouldn’t it?
