Addendum: this is effectively a redirect script that by default applies “nofollow,noindex” to your affiliate links and thus avoids multiple external linking.
See it in action: Go to http://www.highlimitblackjack.com/ and click on a casino link
I use a simular script but rather than clog up the root directory I set up a sub directory called “recommends” so the link looks like xxxx.mydomain.com/recommends/thiscasino.php
This way when I update content, finding the page to update is easier. There is very little lag in the time for the chosen site to open and I thought the “recommends” in the url builds trust.
Only issue with this is where sites have multiple landing pages that I want to use. In that case I use the raw code provided by the affiliate site. Link changes are a breeze now for many of my sites and if I am in a chat and someone needs a link I can type it into msn or skype in seconds.
