InactiveI agree it was a pretty even debate. Since it was about foreign policy, Obama’s perceived weakness, I’d give Obama a win on this debate for holding his ground. McCain looked angry, bitter & crotchety the whole debate. I think the most striking thing about the night was the fact that Palin was hidden from any post-debate interview. I saw Biden several times, but no Palin. I’m not surprised since the Couric interview was freaking awful. I can’t wait for the Biden – Palin debate!

InactiveI’d say it was pretty even as well. McCain needs to get off the earmarks. He’s making the public believe that is is going to solve the problems. Earmarks account for 1-3 percent of the budget.
It’s not like that money goes into someones matress. Most of it is used to built/improve infrastucture which employs people and supports local economies, which in turn generates state and federal tax revenue.
The problem is that mostly everyone that is in a position to bill the government inflates the cost outrageously, we all heard the $500 for a hammer stories as well as doctors ripping off medicare and hospitals charging a small fortune for an asprin. Dishonesty is the underlying problem.
Know anybody that can fix that?
