Who’s going to keep paying on your player base after you’re not sending them more players?

From my experience, sending lot’s of players for a few years and then doing much less work later, i’ve found these programs pay me just fine, whatever happens

    PartyPartners
    AffiliatedWeb/Everest Affiliates
    Brightshare
    Referback
    Fortune
    Europartners

I’m pretty confident that 99% of the programs I send to will do this, it’s one of several important factors for me as you never quite know what’s around the corner. Last thing you want is to end up out of it for a year for whatever reason and find your revenue dries up.

However, the key thing is obviously retention. All casinos – well, all good casinos – act to try and retain players and as an affiliate you need to have this high on your priority list when choosing who to promote. If you don’t know who retains well, simple: read player forums and judge which casinos the players like.

Also worth avoiding CPA for the obvious reason, although it’s also far more open to risk. Aside from you not being around, you have the added problem that just a few places drop in Google and your revenue can stop just like that.

So yeah, just minimise your risk. Here are my tips, based on how I deal, although to be honest it’s just common sense business practice:

    1) Promote casinos that treat players well, and will retain as a result
    2) Avoid CPA deals
    3) Avoid negative carry-over unless it’s a top, top casino with players
    4) Spread your players around several programs
    5) Promote just one, maybe two, casino(s) from “bundling” programs
    6) Stick to “known” software with a long track record
    7) Pick software from software providers who underwrite their licencees

Are there any casinos still doing negative carry over?

All RTGs and most Playtechs. Most Microgaming ones also carry over charge backs.

ALso I would say only ever promote one casino from a bundling program. Otherwise that may seriously bite one day.

I’ll certainly be checking the t&c of the casinos I promote!

English is not my native, what do you mean by “bundling” program?
    Thanks :)

    Thanks :)

That is when a program has more than one property and if you make money on A but lose more money on B then you do not get the money earned from A. :)

simmo, could you please elaborate. particularly about the underwriting thing. is that when the software provider rents out its software as opposed to selling it?

Thanks hun, I thought it refers to cross-promotion, but now it’s clear :)

What I mean is certain software providers will work to ensure players and affiliates are, whenever possible, paid up in the event of a casino failing or being taken over. Microgaming have demonstrated this in the past, and while I’ve yet to see it happen with these two, Wagerworks and Cryptologic would probably also do a similar thing.

    Hi all (S),

yet to see it happen with these two, Wagerworks and Cryptologic would probably also

Having trouble placeing Wagerworks so I suppose its possible … but ya think?

Crypto has never shown me to be one that I would consider would step up and pay outstanding debt to players who lost their money to bankruptcy.

InterCasino is a pretty classy place and I believe in them … but not necessarily in all casinos that use the Crypto software.

I mean I trust the software to provide fair-odds games but do I think they’d step up and cover all of those accounts which had money in them when the casino declared bankruptcy?

Be a lot of accounts if it were Intercasino that declared.

Personally that is a kind of dedication that i will believe when I see it … and not before then.

MGS is king of that mountain and I’m not sure any other deserve to be mentioned in same breath until such time they actually DO step in and bite what I’m sure is a very bitter bullet.

You can earn money from A and B, with some good known programs. :p

But in overall, I agree with you :)

Sorry Goldfinger but most MG casinos do not carry over, there are only a few that do which is why MG is high on my list on marketing because they have their acts together and they are very willing to work with their affiliate partners.

AGD has a table that shows details on all programs such as if they carry over/bundle etc

Could you tell me the link? :) I saw the carry-over policy on the aff programs’ review page, but nothing about bundling.
    Thanks hun in advance :)
