InactiveCommission, Rev Share, friendly T&Cs (without a minimum player rule and with a not very big minimum payment), alternative payment methods like Moneybookers, Click2Pay, EcoCard and etc. and affiliate program reputation.

InactiveI rather sign up with a program whose AMs are active in CAP, because it means for me that they can be contacted any time and I can rely on their help if needed.
Seeing all over the green logo signatures from the bet365 and paddypower guys makes me want to try them out LOL.

poluroud20MemberThis is a great thread idea Yvette – I can’t find it now but I started a similar thread asking for ideas of an affiliate’s ideal programme.
This way, all the certified partners can tweak/enhance their respective programmes to improve their service to affiliates and players as a result.
The more feedback we receive, the better we can serve affiliates – hope its constructive though :wink-wink

Excellent point sipka! It’s great to see the active AM’s like Chris, John, Martyn, Marvin, Jamie and some that I don’t know (but plan one signing up with as soon as my new site is ready to publish) here at CAP because I know that they are here for us and the industry as a whole!

cybersportsMemberThanks Chris!
I wasnt aware that you started a similar thread. It is great to get this feedback so that everyone can improve. From what i notice the most important thing is remaining in contact with affiliates.@Chris – AffiliateClub.com 171115 wrote:

InactiveWhen I choose a program I do it based on a review of the site, check that it has a good reputation, and is suitable for a section of my sites visitor base.
Then what I REALLY want from an affiliate program is performance :
– Good conversions,
– Good retention,
– Minimal fraud charges.
– Reliable and regular payout procedures. This will be a blow to the egos of many affiliate managers … but I don’t really care about the person or “personality” running the brand.
My decisions on whether to continue with a brand are a fairly hard-nosed look at the bottom line numbers – and whether I like, dislike, or can even identify the affiliate manager doesn’t come into it.
A good responsive affiliate manager may be able to help me maximise the brand (and boost revenue for that program) but that has already been accounted for in the cold hard focus on the cash.
A friendly email, or chat is nice, but does not pay the bills or the wages.
Show me the money people.
:hattip:—-
So in answer to Yvette’s question.
My dream affiliate program belongs to a good reliable site that has a good affiliate front end so that we can do a lot of self-service for banners and promotions.
It provides a steady income stream and is organised enough so that I don’t have to be wasting time chasing up payments, or failing banners, or clickthru errors.
A monthly email informing us of any upcoming changes to the program is also nice.
All the rest – affiliate freerolls or freebies – the affiliate competitions and promotions – don’t register as useful. I’d rather the programs concentrated on getting the basics right.

InactiveIf the program fits my demographics, and unless a program has a bad reputation among webmasters or players, and as long as their T&Cs and tracking are clean, I will give them a shot.
Then I watch, and if they show activity in a low spot, I try the next level, etc.
If I write and get no replies a couple times, I just pull the program. Doesn’t matter if they are producing or not. I want to be able to ask questions or discuss things.

InactiveI have to say that I choose programs based on what suites my players the best. This is easy for me to say, because traffic is very specific at my sites.. Downside is that I work with less reputable programs. And of course I know this isn’t the best way to go, but nothing better is availible..
But for extra points (higher banner position, etc. Assuming you fit my traffic)
– dedicated affiliate manager
– higher commissions
– personal deals
– targeted marketing materials
– non cash incentivesAnd the last one (non cash incentives) might work the best for me. I mean, cash is nice, but I think a good gift is worth more than cash..

You’re not getting paid enough cash …
:tongue:August 5, 2008 at 9:24 pm #774758Anonymous
Inactivelol… yeah I know I could buy anything when earning enough cash… it’s just the thought that matters to me..
Okay, I might be a bit odd here.. But I think I’d appriciate a personal gift (worth say $500) more than a cash bonus of $500..

cybersportsMemberOk what type of personal gift are we talking about here? :roflmao:

InactiveI know what you mean Chipeez, but the funny thing about “gifts” is that often the AM’s then try to leverage off these “gifts” as some sort of special relationship later on.
I don’t like that. It means it was a bribe or sweetener not a gift.
:sarcasm:But I do agree that as a “gift” it can be a nice surprise. I’ve sometimes done this for my writers – and it’s always gone down well.
