Inactivedoyoweb, you can always ask the sponsor to remove your negative carryover. Some sponsors will do that if you ask them. Besides, all they can say is no.
A few years ago I acquired a -$30,000 balance on my cpays account. The a.m told me that there is no way that she can possibly remove the negative carryover, and that I’d have to work harder to get it back to a positive balance. I removed all their casinos, and shortly afterwards they told me that they will not carry the negative over into the next months. They started paying me again for a while before they stopped paying me for some other reason. The account is currently -$5000 or so, but I don’t care because I don’t promote them anymore.

InactiveI would make that request for large amount over 10k.
I had a similar situation with cpays with a -7k balance and I removed banners when they would not wipe it out so i’m not sure, but I figure it would take less than 3 months to recover from it.
If the player has not played it back within a couple months then it’s likely they moved on.

InactiveI only sign with programs that have negative carryover if I think I would be depriving my players of a great experience if I didn’t.
So as a rule I will not work under those conditions, but I have made an occasional exception.
When the carryover kicks in, I give it one month. Then, if it hasn’t shrunk down to where I can see the end of it, I ask to have it removed. If the answer is no, I pull the program until things are settled.
Then I reconsider whether it is worth it to put them back or not.
As a rule of thumb I just avoid advertising places with negative carryover. There are plenty of good places to choose from that don’t.

InactiveYep, that’s true and why sites like affiliate guard dog is so important to check out. I wish they were around when I started.
It’s such a pain to read all of that stuff, but is a must so thank goodness they watch the terms for us.

InactiveI had had one for 3 months, that’s my second longest.
I am down about $23,000 from one player, he/she had 4 loosing months; I made about a hundred buckes a month those 4 months of off him/her, but then came football season and he ran it up that high, I swear I am not stretching this, not more than 3 months.
It was with a sportsbook I really liked so I tried to work out some type of deal with them, but they said it is what it is so I had to stop promothing them. WAGERWEB, I really liked them but they wouldnt cut me any slack. To be fair to them, they didnt drop the player, but the weird thing is, he never won like that agian, that was in August of 2005, last time I looked my make up figure was almost $ 18,000, thats eighteen thousand dollars. :flush:
I tried to work it out with WW again a few months ago, but they never answered…..wonder why. So my answer is 30 months in the red at Wagerweb.

GuestHi all,
agree with GT and Dom, longest I ever had was a month, cause if they don’t work with me on it or as Dom said, i see it climbing out fast, i take all their banners and links down … but a few.
leave a few up to not break T&Cs (some say you must be actively promoting) and you are with a few links up … just in case your existing players ever take you out of the red.

voodoomanMemberWhat would happen if a customer won a massive jackpot, like a million dollars plus? Would your rev share percentage on this amount be considered a negative carry over? That would suck if it was.

If the win is on a progressive jackpot then it’s my understanding that the affiliate does not take the hit, but if not then I’m guessing that that account would be done.
The bright side is if the player knows and likes your site then they may use your site to register at other sites and play it back that way, but that is a long shot.

InactiveWith microgaming all progressive slot play goes to one big jackpot, if it’s hit by one of your players you don’t take the hit, in fact if your lucky enough to refer a jackpot player you now have a player thats a) a millionaire b) loves to play slots
