vladcizsolMemberWe use PRWeb but to be honest to get a benefit you need to selct the $200 package for each release. Needless to say its an expensive way to build branding for your site and is more geared toward that then actual player acquisition.

Inactivei use http://www.transworldnews.com. they have an All you can Eat deal for $1000 per year, the only restriction is that you can only link to your 1 registered domain (you can create redirect pages, but the press release only sends link juice to one domain). So if you have 1 branded domain to push, it’s great. Most of my releases thru them get indexed on google news.
I will say that i’ve used PRweb a few times this year for the same business/domain as i use TransWorld for and found that the $80 release get better treatment from google than my $200 releases, which is counter to what the Prof has observed.
If you think $80 is a lot, look at PRNewswire and BusinessWire, they’ll start around $400 and go up over $1000.

I’ve look at your back links and they need alot of work. If you will go to http://www.vmoptions.com/directory-list.php you will find over 1700 free directories and more listed each day. When you start to increase your back links your ranking will increase and your traffic increases. And all these links are free. I don’t believe that making press releases will bring you significant traffic.

InactiveI find PRWeb great and its very time consuming trying to get stuff out there so why not pay for someone else to do it for you? PRNewswire is also another safe bet. Again though, you need to be paying at the higher end of the scale to get the best service…

InactiveGoogle has a special way of showing backlinks, basically only showing a tiny subset.
I find doing a search for backlinks at Yahoo, will tend to show a more comprehensive.
I believe google uses their toolbar information to show you what they want. So, when i looked up a site of my with 150,000+ back links, google showed me 45 back links, someone who didn’t check my back links often/ever, saw 50,000 back links from google but we both saw 150,000+ in yahoo.
So, check different SEs for a more accurate backlink report.

InactiveYes directory submission does work. You can either have someone to do it or you can do it yourself. If you use that list I published and spend two hours a day you will see the results. Also the link checker I use is at http://www.checkyourlinkpopularity.com/. I’ve used this checker for about 4 years and it is pretty acurate.
