Can you elaborate why you call them dodgy?

Is it because of the security breach they had some time ago and fixed?

    zomg.

security breach? That’s a joke and even the dogs on the street know it. It was internal scam job by people high up in AP. you know this as well as anyone I suspect.

did they refund people who were scammed? Nope. Did they admit their wrongdoings? not really. Did they do a coverup job, hell yes. “oh we deleted all those HH’s by accident..” etc. Yawn.

they should have all been put in jail imo, also this should have hit mainstream media. AP have made online poker a joke, and have definitely damaged the industry. Has anyone been brought to book over the AP scandal? Nope.

    AP = Scumbags.
people who promote scumbags = scumbags in my book.

Also used in all-caps, ‘ZOMG’ is generally used in a sarcastic manner, more often than not a humiliating fasion.

Very nice and conducive to adult conversations and getting points across.

i didn’t mean it in a sarcastic manner Dominque, I was genuinely amazed at your reply and was saying “OH MY GOD”… linking to that definition wasn’t ideal i guess as no sarcasm was meant.

Anyway, moving on.. given the nature of CAP you should be aware of all of the facts we available on the Absolute Poker SCANDAL. yes I said SCANDAL. Claiming it was a security breach is either ignorance or convenience imo, as everyone knows it was internal.

The fact that you are permitting the promotion of proven scammers and thieves on your site fills me with disgust.

A lot of big poker sites banned all AP advertising a long time ago, whether direct or through third parties, as they care about their players and don’t want to recommend something which may be dodgy to anyone.

Tell me, If you had been a victim of the Potripper superaccount and had lost thousands of dollars, would you be happy to see AP banners on an industry site?

That may be so, but we are not here to judge people’s choices or attack them for it.

We are here to discuss issues and solve problems.

I happen to have had a bad egg in my team, and from that I gained some understanding of how such a bad egg can go undetected and how damage can be done.

From what I saw at Absolute, they had a bad egg doing a lot of damage to a lot of people.

I don’t think they handled it particularly well, but I do think that it is now a pretty safe place to play.

If you think it’s not, can you tell me facts and figures of what is impacting the future?

If you are here to convince me to take them off my site, expressing disgust isn’t going to do it. Showing me that my players are in danger of being screwed will. Nobody screws my players with impunity.

If you are here to convince CAP to take them down, I am not the person to engage, I am just a volunteer moderator and otherwise not connected to CAP in any way.

I would be interested to hear why you suddenly feel it’s a safe place to play. When did it become so? In your original reply you mentioned a “breach” when there clearly was none. Are you actually aware of all of the facts which have been brought to light regarding AP.?

For example, How can u trust them when they clearly tried to do a cover-up job.? Any company with integrity would freeze everything, call the feds and the guilty parties would be in jail.

maybe a bad analogy, but just because a child molester did his jail time doesn’t mean I want him babysitting my children.. But oh, that’s right, nobody did any time did they.

    Once bitten, twice shy imo.

Could be why I have been asking you for facts? I don’t make judgements without being sure that I have all the facts.

    http://www.cardplayer.com/poker-news/article/10594/kgc-fines-absolute-poker-500-000-for-security-breach

The KGC released several startling details about the cheating scandal and undressed Absolute Poker for not reporting that cheating had occurred on the site to the KGC as soon as Absolute Poker knew cheating had occurred. The KGC also discovered that Absolute Poker tried to cover up the cheating scandal by deleting certain gaming logs and records and that the site failed to report the security breach within 24 hours of its discovery.

obviously trustworthy guys at AP. [rolls eyes]
