The geographical location of the server is irrelevant if its being used in the commissioning of a crime (as defined by Federal OR state OR county OR city laws, etc…) If you’re hosting child porn in a country that has no laws against it than you cannot tell Uncle Sam to buzz off, you will go to jail. Look up the story about nowhats****edup.com – the server was hosted in Amsterdam, but the county sheriff’s office prosecuted him.
But on the bright side, the reality is that unless you’re running a bookie and accepting wagers, than don’t worry about it. Just pay your taxes :Cry: However, I would definately use DNS and privacy services that make it a little tougher to determine my precise location.. no point in putting up a big neon sign.

I have limited experience with privacy services, and I’m wondering if I need anything extra.
hostgator.com is my host, and as I said in my original post, they offer a free privacy service for the whois info, but do I need to take any extra precautions on top of that?
