vladcizsolMemberJust got back from shopping and have now started cooking.
Professors Corned Beef and Cabbage
I add three Corned Beef Briskets a large pot of boiling water along with two large onions, six cloves of garlic and five Bay Leaves. At 5:30 they come out of their bath. (2 1/2 hours).
I pull out the bay leaves and put two cabbages that have been cored and quartered and a bag of red skin potatos in the broth from the corned beef.
They are placed on simmer. The Corned Beef goes into a covered roasting pan and placed into a 375 degree over for 1 hour.
Stir the cabbage and potatos occasionally, but dont be rough we dont want the potatos mashed.
Remove Corned Beef from oven and place on serving platter. Drain the cabbage and potatos and put them in a large bowl. Add butter to the cabbage and potatos and toss lightly to distribute.
Break out ice cold beer and Guiness. Eat like pigs!
When dinner is done 5 or six toasts with good whiskey are the order of the day. I love a good Canadian Whiskey or American Bourbon, if you prefer scotch lets go with a Irish single malt like Aberlour.
Let the dancing begin!

InactiveHAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY to all!

We had the parade (and post-parade festivities) yesterday here in Montréal and it was one of the most notable days of the year for me so far!
Hope you all have a fantastic time celebrating!
