There are many ways to get traffic. The most common way is to have a site, filled with unique content, a little optimization, some good links, and after some time and good old fashion work, you should get natural traffic from search engines. However, I can see you already have a site.

There are endless other ways to attract traffic; the only limit is your imagination. I know that some affiliates have their website branded on their car (a big sticker with their domain). I know affiliates that have given out flyers.

You can create a blog, or a forum, or try them both. You can post in well known player forums, and where allowed, post your link in your signature. If you post helpful and relevant information about a subject, people will generally react positively and click on your sig. You can sign up to social networking sites, look for a hook to attract people and refer them to your site.

You can host a radio show about the game of the free roll. There are many places to help you set one up. One guy even ran down a busy street naked with a domain on his back (non-gambling related and highly not recommended due to social and legal implications, but it is an example of the diverse techniques people use to attract visitors).

It’s all a matter of thinking outside the box.

Drop by our poker radio station’s forum and make a note with the details. We allow this of other forums, just no poker room links. ;) We have several other forums which advertise our events with their links on their own site as well. It’s like a big ol’ happy family lol

You might try a press release.. There was some talk over at DP of Google giving the 50 penalty to people who use specific (unnamed) press release services though.. so be sure to look into that.

You can ask forum owners to allow you to post (or post with for you) details, but for the most part they’re probably going to want their traffic to use their banners, which doesn’t really help you to much.

Other out of the box ideas.. that aren’t nessisarily free include:

ReviewMe.com you could find a bunch of related blogs, have the owners of the blogs post an announcement of your tournament.

SponsoreredReviews.com PayPerPost.com same thing. Target high traffic blogs, well known blogs, and then blogs with decent alexa rankings, and blogs that are indexed in Google Blog Search, blogs with a lot of comments might be good as well, at least you can tell there’s activity.

There are actually a couple lil radio podcasts majiggy’s I’ve been meaning to listen to for sooo long, and I hate to say, i don’t know if they’re for players or affiliates, but the ones for players.. buy a commercial?

    Thats my brainstorming for now..

    Good Luck :)
