Retain recpeits and claim as “Advertising” in the “self employed” area of your tax return. I just did this with my accountants on my tax filing for 2007.
Ask for an invoice. . . I didn’t actually get any 1099’s believe it or not, but I did send out 1099’s to some sub contractors that write with me. I also sent out quite a few requested invoices.
