InactiveI have a bonus site that gets quite a bit of traffic… many, many uniques per month. The players that convert are either No Deposit bonus seekers for those who deposit $10-50 only and then never come back to that casino

It’s disappointing to me because the amount of signups can be pretty great, but the amount of income is never great.
That’s just my experience, though.

InactiveFreebies have their occasional place – to get people to look at something new.
If all you concentrate on is freebies, you will have a high volume of player signups and a low player value.
What a lot of people don’t realize is that affiliates pay for the freebies to – albeit indirectly.
If I have 10 prime spots on the site, and all of them produce low value players, I have a low value website despite having a lot of traffic.
If I have 9 spots that advertise features players are looking for and only one freebie, then I have 9 high player value opportunities and will make much more money overall.
In effect, from my experience every freebie ad takes away valuable space that could make you money.
Sure, signups will be lower for non-freebies, but one good value player (not high roller, just a constant player with a decent budget) can be worth several hundred freebie players.
Yes, there is the occasional freebie player that uses the freebie to try out a new site and if s/he likes it, will convert into a good value player. But the huge majority by far will take the money and run, looking for another freebie, in the hopes of winning big time by trying every freebie out there…
So, in my experience, every spot I give to a freebie will increase visitor number and signup, but it loses me money because that spot is not properly monetized.
When you have a new site it is really tempting to use freebies to generate traffic and signups, and that’s not alltogether bad. Just be aware that what you are doing is buying traffic by forgoing revenues.
Of course eventually you can make money that way too, it’s like selling penny candy versus $2000 wedding cakes. You just need lots and oodles of volume to make any money.
