Guestsomebody got up and going quick on this …. this week.

I’m still reeling from Sunday night. what a game.
I needed Denver to lose for KC to move up … but as I suspected… didn’t happen. will be rooting for GB but picked denver this week.
anyway ..mostly agreed with Prof. I think had two different.
these are straight up. haven’t seen the spreads yet.
agree/ Indy @ Carolina – ZZZZZZ Indy
agree / Det @ Chicago – Wow! This is a really tough one, but I think Chicago pulls it out at home.
agree / Pitt @ Cinn – Stealers big time win. They shoulda won in Denver and I look for them to beat the crap out of Cincy to show they are AFC top tier.
agree / NYG @ Miami – The Giants do it again. Nick wears paper bag on his head while watching this one. The rest of us from Miami feel like wearing plastic bags…. When will this season end?
still agree / Phil @ Minn – Finally a game where you can feel comfortable picking Minneapolis to dominate. Vikings slow roast the eagles and eat them with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.
agree/ Cleveland at STL – Brownies in a squeaker. This one could be a STL upset.
agree / Oak @ Tenn – Vince Young is back and Oakland gets a 4th quarter ass kicking. Titans
agree / Bufallo @ Jets – ???? Could easily go either way. I am picking Buffalo just because I like chicken wings.
I think this one may depend on where the game is played? SD has a huge home field advantage but not so sure if they end up playing in Arizona …but will go with Prof / Houston @ San Diego – Chargers are back off the respirator so expect a long day for the Texans. San Diego by a wide margin.
I think this is where you went wrong but only because you didn’t know the starter *QB – will be out for Jags .. TB is hungry .. and i think they match up well until you get to QB position. Grey looked awful on Mon night. TB in a tight one / Jacksonville @ TB – Two best teams in Florida lock up and I have no idea who will come out of this one alive. My heart wants TB my head says Jacksonville. Forgive me Jeff, but I am going with Gulp! Jaguars.
agree / Washington @ NE – Another game closer to an unbeaten season. New England humbles the Redskins.
lol … okay ..talked me into it / New Orleans @ San Francisco – New Orleans wins one on the road. Trent Dilfer throws his helmet at Team Mascot.
tough one. This Monday’s game? well .. I guess I gotta back up my last week’s call… that denver seldom loses on mon night. Denver / Green Bay @ Denver – Does Denver steal another win with a kick at the end? I am going with Green Bay

vladcizsolMemberI jyst updated my Jacksonville / Tampa Bay pick due to the Jacksonville Quarterback situation. Is that one of the hot dog vendors out there as the Jaguars Quaterback?
It was close before, but without any passing game at all and a slightly hobbled running game Jacksonville doesnt have a prayer against Tampa.

InactiveOh please don’t think i’m a Miami fan…i just seized the opportunity to beat an undefeated immortal god like team like New England with a bunch of dogs who couldn’t beat my high school team…my life is not challenging enough apparently, but i can’t regret that pick, 2 divisional rivals who know eachother better than anyone and i get the team playing at home at 13-1 odds, i’d make that bet every time and be up a lot of money…Miami is hurtin big time, bring back Marino, Duper, and Clayton, they would’ve played better
As for this weekend i’m off to the Breeders Cup for my annual slash slash bang
Whats with the red ink on Jaxy, that team got broken vs Indy, totally outclassed and found out as a pretender, they looked cheap as hell, no wide receivers of NFL caliber, even the defense fell apart on 3rd down and long situations, the team just can’t rise to the elite level, not enough pedigree as i heard an Englishman once remark
Meanwhile, i thought Minny got a bum deal in Dallas, the refs kept dissallowing their TD’s for reasons unknown, will the NFL ever play fair, i doubt it…this guy Peterson for Minny is sharp as hell, what a freak
Does Denver steal another win with a kick at the end?…Probably not, they probably whoop Green Bay up and down the field all day

GuestOh please don’t think i’m a Miami fan
no shame Nick. understood your thinking ….. just didnt’ think Miami had it in them.
personally i’d like to see Miami stay the only undefeated team.
Although I must go back further than you. Greise, Kick, Morris and ever-lovin’ Csonk (that first letter right?) … I remember all too well …. Csonka was almost a guarantee for 3 or 4 yds a carry …. even when defense knew he was getting the ball.
I think Coach Shula just gave the ball to morris and kick once in a while to prevent bordem in the crowd. Griese threw about an average of what? like 12 – 14 passes a game. Unheard of nowdays. Csonka was … well only one close i can think of was maybe John Riggins ….
a lot of RBs have had better stats per carry …. but there’s nobody I’d prefer on a game’s long run than handing off to the Csonk. He was unblievable.
not to take away from his blocking (Kick included) … just saying … how many teams nowadays go for it on 3rd and 3, 4 yds and hand off to the likes of Csonka because its their best bet for a first down?
Not forgetting the defense either… or paul warfield. But Csonka was the one bringing home the bacon and it didnt’ matter who knew it. “stop me if you can!”.

InactiveI finally figured out what bb in bb1webs stands for
It stands for “Bad Buzz”
What is up with the Csonka trip
Oh man, sure, lets talk ancient Dolphins…I liked the 2 QB system of David Woodley and Don Strock, what a buzz that was, hey it’s 3rd down and 8, Strock get in here…apparently Woodley couldn’t throw the ball 10 yards so we sat there watching Strock gun an incompletion on 3rd down wondering why the F would u bring him in the game
Then i sat through a career of Dan Marino wondering why the F don’t u get this guy a decent running back to actually contend for a Super Bowl, poor Danny, the best QB never to win a Super Bowl
I also remember when my Steelers legendary coach Chuck Knoll officially lost his mind…when Dan Marino asked to be traded to Pittsburgh because he is from there, famous Pitt Panther…Chuck Knoll said, and i quote: “We don’t need Dan Marino, we have Mark Malone”
Mark Malone finished his career in Pitt by completing less than 50% of his passes while tossing 60 TD’s and 81 INT’s in 73 games, the whole episode made Steelers wish Cliff Stoudt was still in town, the former QB who was booed out of town and probably the most hated Steeler of all time, up until Neil O’Donnel, the fans would bring stuffed Cliff Stoudt life sized dummies to the games with a noose around their neck and set them on fire, lol, the guy threw twice as many INT’s than TD’s in his career, oh man
I remember those times, i was shouting at my TV, for the love of god just get Dan Marino, whatever he wants i’ll pay the difference if you’re short on cash, dammit, shortly after we all decided it might be best for Chuck to take a rest, a great coach, but when the mind goes it goes
Actually i shouldn’t say anything bad about Neil O’Donnel, he played pretty good but those 2 Super Bowl interceptions vs Dallas and Larry Brown will forever leave him tainted

In case u were wondering, there have been 57 NFL players with the last name Brown, 27 with the last name Green, 24 with the last name White, 7 with the last name Gray, 2 with the last name Blue, and 1 with the last name Black…
Brown – 57
Green – 27
White – 24
Gray – 7
Blue – 2
Black – 1and on the NFL’s precious metals market
Gold – 1
Silver – 0
Bronze – 0October 25, 2007 at 9:26 am #752217Anonymous

GuestNick,
I merely talked the undefeated season of the dolphins. has nothing to do with any of the names metioned.
re-read my post. the undefeated season.
….. and frankly …. I don’t understand you’re going off on me just because i liked that team.

InactiveAnywho, after looking at those picks i would agree that Green Bay could pull off the upset in Dnever, i misspelled it i know, a 5-1 team playing a 3-3 team as a dog, but traditionally Dnever plays good vs Geebs, beating them in the Super Bowl and 3-0 lifetime vs them in Dnever, besides, Broncos and Colts don’t lose on Breeders Cup weekend
Ny Jits should beat Buffy, they’ve split the series the last 4 years and Buffy won the 1st game a couple weeks ago
I think Philly beats Minny, Minny is a one man Peterson, Philly has beaten Minny in their last 3 games by more than 10 points each time, so i’d have to favor them but prolly won’t touch the game
Might take Jaxy to pull off the upset after their embarrassing monday night show, at least if they win this they can pretend to be the best team in Florida
And since i mentioned the Breeders Cup, i am taking my chances on Street Sense in the Classic, such a nice horse this guy is
