    What say I ?

I say you shouldn’t talk smack about Arizona

They are 9-1 against the spread in their last 10 games and making everyone backing them very rich

    That’s what say I

We arent talking Spread Nick we are talking W/L and Arizona wont be in the playoffs. The teams with the Ws will.

I feel sorry for the people of Phoenix for not having a better record, but for whatever reason their team loses far more then they win.

My Picks are straight up as I dont bet the games. Why dont you start a weekly Nicks Picks which factor in Spreads? I know BB1 has asked for spreads and people will probably like em. I am just a football fan not a sports gambler so my picks are for casual fans. You pro’s can do a bettors thread.

Arizona is the worst team in the history of NFL Football all time, that is not open to debate, they have always sucked

But this year’s version has some fresh blood and a bit of talent

They could so easily be 3-0

Last week they were tied with Baltimore in Baltimore with less than 1 minute left(the only team to beat Baltimore in Baltimore recently was Indianapolis in the playoffs last year on their trip to a Super Bowl victory), they got wronged by a very bad personal foul penalty which set up Baltimore for the last second Field Goal win, the incident has been brought to the attention of head referee Mike Pereira, Arizona was on a late 17-0 run in that game prior to the gift home team call and had Baltimore running for their lives on the field.

Week 1 vs 3-0 San Francisco in San Francisco they were in complete control and the much better team until a freak late turnover cost them the game, they were winning 17-13 with 26 seconds left in the game

I don’t play into records, this team is playing good and their record will eventually show it

Pittsburgh is my old school team, and a big reason why I like Arizona, Pittsburgh’s 2005 Super Bowl winning very champ like Offensive Co-ordinator is now the coach of Arizona, and i have complete confidence in him, and he is doing really good so far, Pittsburgh at the moment are steamrolling everyone, outscoring their opponents this year by an average of 24 points, and have not given up a first half TD all year, ouch, they are playing incredibly good, but i think Arizona puts out a big effort in Arizona as a 6 point dog and makes this game close, maybe even wins it straight up, they knocked off Seattle at home in their last home game and are worth a shot

Arizona’s coach taught Pittsburgh’s offense everything they know, that Pitt offense that’s averaging 32 points per game so far this year, so it’s a tricky call, Pitt is the better team but travelling out west they are not so great and 1-2 all time vs Arizona in Arizona, i’ll look for the Cards to keep bringing in the money, this game is played on the field, not on paper

Hey Lou, I don’t bet on the games either, wink wink

    Those pics look decent

Chicago took our word and is putting in Brian Griese, I expect a more conservative offensive attack, shorter passes, runs, let BG settle in, he hasn’t played in a long time, he’s a very relaxed dude and will run the offense that way. The offensive play calling has been a problem for them this year, not just Grossman, they’ve completed just around 50% of their passes, which is terrible, and Grossman’s not that bad, so I expect something different.

Brian Urlacher thinks his Bears are gonna whoop Detroit like they have done the last 4 times they played, this will be a good game, Detroit would love to win this one and hold a better all time winning record vs Chicago at home

Miami vs Oakland in the “Who Cares” game of the year, i’d have to say Miami but i don’t trust these games where 2 loser teams get together

Oddly enough, for those who believe in parity, Miami and Oakland are the 2 winningest teams all time in NFL history, with a 58 and 56 percent win percentage all time, now they are 0-6 combined

Your pick Tampa Bay to beat Carolina seems illogical at first look, Carolina is the boss in that division and playing at home, Tampa Bay has only beaten the broken Rams and Saints, 2 teams with a not so good immediate future, when Tampa went into Seattle week 1 they couldn’t score a TD, i would expect Carolina’s monster defense shuts them right down in Carolina, this game is for 1st place in the division

That’s what my mind says, but then i keep hearing all this crap about how every last place finisher in that division has gone on to win it the following year for the past 4 years and TB finished in last place last year, probably one of the stupidest things i’ve heard lately, so i don’t know what to make of that, Carolina is the better team in my mind, but i can see a potential upset win for TB.

I’ve only really bet big on one game so far this year, showing some extreme patience, that was Tennessee last week in New Orleans at +220 on the money line, and Ten -12.5 on the adjusted line that paid 15-1, so that was a very nice score, had it up on my Facebook page for the gang, threw a few bucks on Tennessee to win it all at 75-1 before that game, they look like they will be a very dangerous playoff team

I’ll take a closer look at these games and try to find a nice one, looks like a tough week to make money so far, not too many good looking longshots

Lets look at your upset special, that was what i called Tennessee last week, San Francisco to beat Seattle at home…

Seattle has scored 20+ points in each of their last 5 road games and is 2-1 this year, they lost to San Fran twice last year, SF hasn’t scored more than 20 points in a game all year but i think they can win this game, with a sleight lean on the over, something like a 24-21 final for SF, but i don’t think i’d put money on it, Seattle is the better team and have won that division for the past 3 years, and are in 1st place again

    Damn, nothing looks really good

Regarding Tampa Bay/Carolina the missing magic for Tampa has been a quarterback. Grudin is a total asshole, whenever the bucs have a good quarterback he benches em or trades em. If we had Griese playing for the last couple years instead of Sims we could have won the division a couple more times easily. Garcia is the magic we were waiting for and Grudin couldnt sit him down or he would have gotten fired. With Garcia at the helm the Bucs are going to have a very good year. Will they be Superbowl champs? Hell no! No team in the NFC, repeat No team in the NFC can beat even the top three teams in the AFC (New England, Indy, Pittsburgh). So its an AFC blow out in the bowl again this year.

Miami hasnt geled yet, but Trent Green is a sound quarterback and their defense could win more then its share of games by itself. The wins will come. They arent top tier AFC, not even top 6 but they arent in the cellar either. Oakland has been stinking up the place for the last few years and its a shame as they were traditionally a solid performer every year. They have a variety of problems that stem from management more then anything else. They will improve, but I would be surprised if they win more then 4 games this year.

Seattle is currently over rated. I have no idea whats wrong with them this year and they do have wins, BUT they dont look as good as their rep is or even where logic says they SHOULD be. They have a great running game, solid defense, a very good quarterback and superb coaching so whats wrong? I have no idea. The same voodoo is effecting San Diego this year. Maybe they will eventually snap out of it, but until I see the Seattle of years past I wouldn’t pick em in a game against a decent or hot team. San Fran isnt really that good YET, but I think they are hungry and sometimes against a struggling team thats all it takes.

    My Spidey sense is tingling

Dallas (3-0) is a 2 touchdown favourite over St Louis (0-3) at home

Lou says: “It’s a gimme for Dallas”

So why do i have this urge to pound St Louis, something funny is brewing, i think i am gonna take St Louis and the 14 points, and even throw a few on them to win straight up

As if being 0-3 wasn’t bad enough, their starting running back is out for this one

It looks so bad it’s gotta be good, old school logic kicking in

    That almost makes sense

Didn’t i say St Louis was a broken team a couple posts ago, hmm, what am i thinking, they can’t beat nobody, they are in transition, clearing out whats left over from their super bowl days

Tough week, hopefully Zona can come through and make everything ok

What a miserable weekend. I was sick as a dog and alot of my teams looked like they should have stayed home in bed too!

San Diego!!!! Come on…. Hand out paper bags to the fans as they enter the stadium so they can cover their heads and not be seen on TV. What an embarassment of a year for the Chargers. Serves them right for shitting on Marty like they did. Karma is alive and well in Southern Cal.

Miami!!!! Ok so Culpepper has a legitimate axe to grind with the fins and he took it out on their asses big time. He’s a local Orlando boy and I wasnt happy about the Dolphins treatment of him either so it makes this ass whipping a little more acceptable, but come on! This Dolphins Team is a disgrace to the proud legacy of the Miami Dolphins.

Baltimore what happened? Are you getting old and tired or is Cleveland half way decent this year?

Da Bears are starting to look like Da Bums. I guess too many injuries on D and a relative lack of a running game on O is too much to overcome no matter who is pitching the interceptions.

Arizona…. Nick is doing an end zone dance on this one and deservedly so Arizona beat a team they had no business beating. Good work cards. Pittsburgh you arent going to be listed in the top three in the AFC if you take loses like this one. Wake TF up.

Philly Philly Philly….. Ugh! Nice game by the Giants especially their defense. I guess Dallas has a least one NFC team to worry about.

Kudos to the Bucs and Jeff Garcia. Dallas has TWO NFC teams to watch out for.
