Inactive.com’s are popular and the default.
Local domain use is growing for local business so thats :
co.uk in the United Kingdom
co.nz in New Zealand
co.ws in Western Samoa (etc)The one anomoly is actually in Australia – who jumped on the bandwagon quickly so their local domain is :
com.au
:bigsmile:However, I don’t really think that it gives you an edge in that market – and by taking a local domain to do tend to alienate anyone not from that country.

InactiveOne thing to take into account with .com.au is that if it is a registered business name then only the owner can register the domain. I’ve never bothered to read all the rules because I don’t bother with .com.au myself and the couple I have registered owned their business names anyway.

InactiveI think a .com.au would be better for that sort of site. It helps with rankings if you are chasing Aussie traffic.
She’ll have to jump through some hoops to register the name though and will need an ABN or a company.
