vladcizsolMemberHave fun Dom I wish Marie and I could have made it, but the airfare was just too expensive ($9200!). We will be at CAP Euro in Barcelona in October anyway so we decided Europe had to wait till then.

goldaMemberProfessor, $9200 for flights are you kidding me? What airline was it?
April 30, 2007 at 7:43 pm #735350
vladcizsolMemberThat was the lowest fare and it was on British Air. Me and Mrs Professor need a little extra space so we are forced to fly business class. We just dont fit in the economy seats very well.

InactiveSorry that you & Marie can’t make it, Lou… But I will see you in a month :rasta:
The rest of you get there, buy me a drink, and wait in the bar… I’m on my way.

Down here we just fly business class because it’s so damn long a flight!!!
2-3 plane switches and 40-48 hours total transit time.
Going cattle class for those trips is not fun …
And it was going to cost about US$10,000 each !!But CAP Euro in Barcelona in October sounds good …
Let me just wait for next seasons (2007-08) football schedule.

vladcizsolMemberI am not sure why, but to fly to Barcelona it’s less then half what it was to fly to Amsterdam. :highflyer
I dont know if this will hold true for trips from New Zealand, but it certainly makes CAP Euro a lot more affordable for me and the Mrs.

InactiveThe weather is great here, very pleasant. I missed the queen’s birthday by one day, I would have come earlier had I known. Just got to see the remnants from all the street parties – must have been wild!!!!!
I have been flying so much I get upgrades. I have learned to try to stick with United and use their credit card for flights, and it has improved things a lot.

CASINO JET7MemberBelieve me, I live near Barcelona, and you made a good choice by opting for the later conference! I´ll post some info on good restaurants & bars nearer the time as there are alot of them!

InactiveWell, I went on a poker tournie cruise with Everest last night, and I won the thing!!!
I guess a fool and her money are not as easily parted as one thinks.
(there was no money involved btw, was a fun match)
There are a couple of interesting new softwares out there and I’ll have to look them over.
Neteller spoke yesterday and I am confident everyone will get their money back eventually. The new neteller sounds good too for those who can use it. From what I gather Neteller will roll out an affiliate program.
Weather is great and it’s great to see everyone again. It’s getting to where I am reluctant to make the long journeys to the conferences, but when I get there I am always glad I went.
Off to the second day of conference….
