European player are searching their own language.
So you have to translate your pages.

Ok, that makes sense. Where can I get my pages translated? And what languages are most popular to do so?

Should I get my entire site translated, or can I just do certain pages to target different languages?

Also, if you are interested mr.noise, I am selling links and banner space on my site at http://www.smackdogpoker.com. PM me.

    Hello

Our site is available in various languages, but our English site is the most popular, with most of our players coming from Scandinavia. We use in-house translators, but as pointed out by Goldfinger; there are various websites like elance who can translate for you.

In order to try and attract players from other countries, you need to do your research and understand what will appeal to them and what kind of offers and prizes will attract them. Our site offers something unique to our players; a lifestyle choice. We provide a great environment to play in, with good customer service and a loyalty reward scheme for players and affiliates in association with a global private members club – not just cash prizes, which works well for our players and affiliates. It is the lifestyle our site offers, which our young players are attracted to and which other sites don’t seem to offer.

I hope this is some help…

    Hey SmackDog

Why pay for translations? We offer free French and German translation services, and you are guaranteed that they will be clear to the local market, and not clinically translated.

The most profitable European Markets are German and French so, if you require assistance please be in touch and we will be glad to assist.. We will be offering the same service for Chinese next, with a host of others to follow soon…

    Hi again,

That’s great that you offer free translating services but what is in it for you? There must be something!! LOL! I do quite a bit of translating myself and know it is pretty time consuming. What languages do you translate in?

Yes the French and German market are good. We do pretty well in Spain actually. I think most european countries can be very successful if the site is marketed properly and the correct research is made.

We are now very popular in Scandinavia due to our marketing we have done there. We started off in Norway with our FHM poker tour. We trained a team of girls to deal the cards and travelled to 10 different cities/ towns around Norway. Players had to qualify online to win their seat. This was the first thing that got our name out in Scandinavia. We have done quite a few things since in Norway as well as Denmark and Sweden. This summer we’re doing antoher tour around Sweden.

However, our site is not in any of the scandinavian languages. But it has to be said that their knowledge of english is outstanding.

If you want to be successful in countries like France, Germany and Spain for example it is important to have it in their language. Most importantly though you need to do region specific campaigns.

Also, it’s always good to get someone who knows the all the gaming lingo to translate the site. A lot of these agencies often don’t have the knowledge of for example poker and might not do a great job.

Jon is saying that their casino will provide the translation of their casino stuff.I dont think he will agree to do it for other casinos hehehe. If all casinos provided the marketing materials in other languages we wouldnt have to pay for translations.but some think they can put up a few banners and their job is done.

True, but we also do generic site content that is unique to your site, and provide region specific support etc – no half measures here :)

We do also provide region specific promotions and region specific loyalty and retention – each language is truly as if the casino belongs to the region.

We will continue building our language services to assist affiliates, and welcome any suggestions along these lines too.

I agree with Julia as well, all valid points :clapper:
