InactiveTime flies, it was just a few years ago that they came on the scene, when i was in high school….30 years ago. Sad when people go too young.

GuestThat is so sad to hear.
I remember we had to mail in to get tickets thru a lottery draw and were lucky enough to see them (this shortly after the second album launched).
what a show! they had this huge organ that took up the entire stage …. it was a great show.
and what a story. started out their first album in their garage. (correct me if I’m wrong).
55 is young to die. what a waste.

InactiveBoston was my “first love” of rock & roll. I can just about recite every lyric on their first three albums… I grew up with Brad’s voice singing me through some of the happiest and saddest times in my life.
One year, when Anthony and I were on the front row at one of their shows, Brad called me half-way on stage and gave me a pick. I shook his hand and, well… what an experience. He was just that kind of performer: Giving and kind and real.
I know it may sound silly, but a small peice of me has died today. And I’m so sad to think I will never again see him in a concert… or hear a “new” Boston song.
Gonna hitch a ride
Head for the other side
Leave it all behind
Never change my mind.
Gonna sail away
Sun lights another day
Freedom on my mind
Carry me away for the last time…Sung by Brad in 1976

InactiveDefinitely going to be missed – looks like we’re all from the same era LOL.
When I loaded up my phone with MP3s, Boston was one of the first groups I started looking for.

InactiveThe first time I heard them I was 14 drinking Old English 800 Malt Liquor and doing real well with a cute girl and then… up came the 800, again and again until morning. Never did see her again. Come to think of it I never drank Old English again but the memories are still there everytime I hear “more than a feeling”.
Rest In Peace Brad

I strongly suspected that

Eight-track album
PD: maybe I can get you to be the second person to sign my petition to bring back 8 tracks
**Armegeddon movie – loved it when one of their requests was to bring back 8 tracks lol.
Int: first row?!!! Lucky devil.
I once was actually in front of front row at a Billy Joel concert. they held everybody back until bout half thru the concert and apparently the people sitting next to us back on …. like the 25th row . .. knew somebody in security because he came up and said after this song they’re letting people up to the stage so when they got up …… not being totally stupid …. we jumped up and followed.
Never thought I’d be able to say I was at the front row of a concert …… didn’t get any picks or such …. but coulda pulled him off the stage at any time lol.

InactiveGreat story =0)
I have been front row and got to “interact” with quite a few bands/performers actually… Stories for the grandkids, I guess…
Boston – Front row twice and shook Brad’s hand, with a pic, on stage! :wow:
Yes – Seen a gazillion times, front row once and met Jon Anderson’s wife/daughter…
B-52’s – Snuck into their sound checks at Six Flags (I was security) and joked around with them for a while…
The Call – The who, you say? They are a great unknown band I have loved for years. Met them backstage in Houston… nice guys…
Fleetwwod Mac – Front row… Lindsey Buckingham came over and gave his guitar solo almost in my lap…
The Bangles – Front row… don’t laugh! Susanna Hoffs was/is hot! I messed with her all through the concert and afterwards I actually nailed her! It’s true! When I’m drunk in the Bahamas ask me about that story! :laugh:I was also fortunate enough to see Aerosmith, The Cars, Elton John (3x), Billy Joel, Pink Floyd (2x BEST show EVER), Moody Blues, Stevie Nicks, Genesis (2x), Heart, Jars of Clay (2x), and Jackson Browne (my favorite solo artist)!
Who else do I need to see before I die… or they do… is:
Some form of Led Zeppelin, the Eagles, and the Tragically Hip.

not far behind you my friend.
I cannot however claim to have nailed any rock star ….. but I’ve definitely seen all the above short of Aero (just never did it for me) … and heart of clay (never heard of them but that doesn’t mean much- consider the source)
still to see? never saw led zep or the stones. other than that .. I’ve seen the majority of them including the who …. whom (no pun intended but what the hell) … I gave up my Jr prom to see … (same night). I was so sick I actually had to be carried in … slept thru the first band ….and only smoked one (leave that up to your imagination what that one was
) , …… thru the whole concert. have never regreted going despite being near death’s door. (and not from drugs or drink).one of the best concerts I recall was john Melencamp ….. known as cougar back then. He played in front of the kinks and totally blew them away.
also included are CSN (several times) ….. EJ (several times) …. PF ….. REO ….. Kansas (of course …. I’m from there) … shooting star …. saw Styx at a bar in KC years before they became famous …. I could go on and on.
oh ….. and Jimmy Buffet was a great show every time I saw him.
Best Concert ….. can’t make up my mind but Gratefuly dead (2x) was all it was cracked up to be. Will never forget the way the dead followers were so organized about as soon as the group was about to come on stage …. they’d stack the chairs up (on the floor) into literally mountains …. to get them out of the way ….. (for dancing room).
