InactiveGuys and gals, thank you.
This idea is the work of many great minds and the devotion of many great people. I would love to take credit for it, but honestly I am just one part.
It’s super to see such positive feedback… helps to know we’re on the right track! :tounge2:

InactiveThis is indeed a BRILLIANT plan! I think that our veterans are sorrily neglected as it is and when I saw that budgets will soon be cut even further, I was beside myself. It truly is terrible the way the American government throws away our heros after all they do. However, this plan to give proceeds to the vets from revenues generated from legalized online gambling is a winning proposition!! It is morally sound and does, IMHO, open the doors for the industry to clean up it’s otherwise shady persona. Great idea, J Todd! Keep rockin :hattip:

InactiveThat’s the spirit!
Here is the Veterans of Foreign Wars website:
http://vfwwebcom.org/blogThings we can do to help:
Spread the videos, get ’em here: http://www.apcw.org/law/
Include a link in your mailouts, newsletters, post on any of your favorite forums.Toddy, you have an rss feed for the videos? I want to submit to iTunes directory.
The US WILL listen to the VFW. No government can afford to ignore the very people that keep it and the nation safe, if they are silly enough to ignore, then they will not remain in office very long.
The solution offered is very viable and in light of the way Frist put through the gambling bill, on the back of the port security bill ensuring anyone who didn’t sign it would appear to be “un American”, well, anyone not supporting the veterans are actually “un American” :fencing:
What was it the Swedish Government reported in profit from online regulated gambling for 2006? 685 million? And that is only a little country. What would be the estimates in a US regulated scenario? It would have to be several billion.

InactiveMy husband is a disabled vet and he’s on discussion lists for at least 7 different groups. When he explained this idea to the different groups, the reactions were very positive! The general concensus was it is a great idea that they would actively support and promote but their 2 cents was This program should be administered by the VA and The government/politicians could not dilute, waylay, redirect or ‘borrow’ funds. I don’t think they trust the government to keep their hands out of the cookie jar.
I think you got a winner J_Todd!

InactiveAnother idea is to try to include a problem player organization, such as gamblers anonymous or someone like that, by offering full cooperation and some funding….
Getting support from that corner might kill a lot of arguments off the bat.
