Well that’s wierd. They sent me this email just the day before yesterday telling me that they changed my nickname slightly, but didn’t say anything about closing, nor did they give any different url for this new nick.

It doesn’t sound right to me that they’d send out a new nick for me 2 days before they were planning on closing.

I heard that they are merging, not closing.

Perhaps we will get clarification today…

well this is just second hand info but the players knows a worker there and she said she lost her job because they were closing friday . Maybe it is a merge but the player didnt think so .

It seems like a lot of bingo sites have merged recently. Jet and Bingo Cafe just did. And many others. Dom’s probably right.

In a shrinking market two things will happen…

    Mergers

    Closures.

Since I would have to believe US players made up at least 90% of the bingo market and because it was rather low margin to begin with its not surprising to see this happening.

Expect this trend to accelerate for awhile then we will reach equilibrium where there are just enough providers to satisfy the needs of the remaining Bingo players online.

    Lou ,

Bingo is big in Canada Uk and Australian too . I think it depends on the bingo brand , In canada Ibingo is as popular as Tim Hortons although i bet half the world has never heard of them .I think Playtech was 75%+ USA though but they probably will not share that with us. Kiwi Brand is probably very popular in australian and will probably come out ahead of the pack for Playtech.

Bingo is very community oriented so each country probably has their own Brand.Yesterday I was approached by a bingo site to advertise them ,they said they are very big in Spain and europe , i never heard of them before but their site says they give out over 2 million a month euros .

We will definitely have to do our homework but i think the bingo market can still be saved.I am just leary of picking them off sites like which bingo without knowing their history and you cant always believe what you read good or bad.

Has anyone gotten any player feedback from Craxy Vegas Bingo?

I saw Tim Hortons and Winchells or some sort of donut shop on every corner in Ontario (lotta happy cops). I cant recall that many Bingo halls though I am sure they do exist.

I still think Bingo is predominantly a North American past time (Canada is our northern province) and the closures and mergers are occuring and I will bet you a dozen Walnut Crunch’s that they continue.

well Playtech had dozens of bingo halls but they all share one chatroom and one pot so I dont really look at the mergers as bad things .It takes alot of time running a dozen seperate identity , may as well say the Jig is up and we are going under 1 name . I guess for some places they just have to decide what house players they plan to kill LOL .Can we make that bet a Dozen Boston Cream? I will just lick the chocloate off before i give them to you lol

Bingo is very big in the UK. You see bingo halls in every major town, and there are now adverts for online bingo sites on prime-time TV.
