    Just take it easy

Casinos do not let you withdraw such a large amount – most of them have $10K limit a month (which is in place for a reason).

You should check with your aff manager – this could be a sign of a whale, if so – you better be cheesin’ next time you post. :capmiami:

No, it’s a negative balance. He has had a $20k winner.

I’d just stop promoting them unless you have good reason to believe that they will be a top performer – with them you need to generate $20k more revenue than any other program before you get paid. Doesn’t seem worth it.

    Hi Bud,

it would greatly help to know which program? to be able to give any kind of sound advice.

that said: you can do one of two things: in most cases they’ll allow you to lose the player over to them and then proceed from zero: which is an option but if its a big time player there’s a reason these places are so willing to allow that: which is in many cases the player will turn around the next couple of months and lose it all back and then a good chunk chasing that lost fortune – Or you can simply stop promoting the program.

with a carry-over balance the above are your two best bets IMHO.

you could ask to have that player removed, although a 20K winner may be good in the long run. All depends on the program.

I had a killer whale which walloped me every month for about six months. This program carried forward negatives. My aff manager kept assuring me not to worry, that the whale would “eventually give it all back and then some.” Since I had been earning over $20K a month with this particular casino I listened and hung on. Eventually that damned whale had ran my Negative balance up to $1.4 million (or so that stats would indicate). My account was ruined.

The casino finally offered to switch me to CPA and remove the whale (they also removed all the hundreds of producing players I had). I dropped them.

This decision would be based on what program it is and that particular program’s track record.

With a decent program, I would wait out the second month before dropping them, but as a rule I don’t deal with negative carry over. Look at what happened to the professor.

It would depend on the program, is the $20K winner from a WHALE or a Slots Jackpot win (non progressive)? If it’s from a high roller chances are he will give it all back. The house always wins. ;)

wow prof, thats some story….. $20K per month lost just like that – poof

This is why i think i love poker so much, dont really need to worry about any neg carry overs or winners – i only have 1 place that does – bodog, as least i think they carry negs ? ….. anyone know ?

I had a smaller version of that last year at one good casino. I contacted the aff manager and he agreed that we would wait 3 months and if the account was still negative, he’d reset it to zero. This sounded fair as it gave the casino 3 months to recoup the loss against my account and gave me a way back in maintaining my players.

Just ask the affiliate manager for a solution and see what he/she says.

    Yes, the fortune lounge

One of my guys win $17000 by “the 300 free spins” which really take me into the abyss.

I don’t look forward to the further because all his purchase is just $20 by now.

    17k off a 20 purchase?

Fortune has been a joke for us the last 2 months, went from making 1k to making 20 bucks last 2 months if we are lucky.

Lucky for you I dont think fortune carrys negatives forward. If you normally do well with them you should be ok in the future. You might even do really well next month if the player sticks around to lose it back. Course you might want to check the terms for more info on big wins like that. A few programs dock you win a player wins big, they dont like paying out twice.

Fortune Affiliates offer several earning models, on the 40%-60% rev share model the negative balance is carried over.

Whether this player is a big whale or a small fish.. $20000 negative is a lot of money and it might take a few months untill the player will lose it all back if at all. After all, you can never tell when a player quits on you.

    How can I do now?

    Stop promoting them?

handkey, this is a somewhat complexed situation. There are a few factors you might want to consider.

    1. How long have you been promoting FA?
    2. How did FA performed for you in the past?
    3. How many new depositing players in avg do you send to FA each month?

    4. How many other Microgaming programs do you promote?
    5. How well does the other programs perform for you?
    6. Assuming you will stop promote FA, do you feel the other programs will keep your income on a safe level {make minimum living at least}?

After answering those questions to your self.. Relax and think about your future steps.

If you have been promoting FA for at least 6 months or so and did okay, rest assured FA wouldn’t like to hear you consider dropping them. No serious program would like to hear about any of its serious affiliates wants to stop promoting them. Moreover, you have an interest of staying an active affiliate with them because they have proved their conversion potential with you.

So the first option is to keep them.. Ask them for a solution and see what they are willing to offer. That’s what aff managers are for.
If no resolution is found.. I would still keep promoting such a program in such situation but would give them the worst spots and wait to see if the player plays it all back and more.

If you have been promoting FA for a short while.. they will probably be less flexible on this as they can’t really rely on your past performance. On the other hand.. the same goes for your estimation of the program and both of you will not feel hard about it.

Talk to your aff manager, see what FA are willing to do about this and then basing on the factors you have simply decide what’s best for you.

Business is business, players always win and lose and even though it looks horrible now. You will get over it. Just relax, don’t be hasty and figure out your best next steps.

    Hope that helps
