InactiveThe guy came of as an idiot; first he stated he had 120,000 members, then later he said he had 23,000,000 members. A caller even referred to the 23m number and he didnt bother to correct him.
He of course only wants a carve out for poker and could care less about blackjack, slots, craps, roulette and other casino related games. I think every caller was against the ban, and a few die hard republicans stated it was changing their mind about the party.
I had thought leach or one of the other representatives was supposed to show; guess he decided to not come!

InactiveAt least he did not say that some people can get gambling in “smaller doses” like he did on CNN a few weeks ago when talking about the availability of small stakes games. Nice of him to use words that compare playing poker to drug use.
At least the segment was a good one with nearly every caller voicing opposition to the ban. Believe it or not, that was one of M.B.’s better performances. You just have to play the hand you’re dealt and, like it or not, he is the only voice players have until election day.

InactiveJ. Todd,
He really has few cards to play at this point (no pun intended), since the bill is now law. He’s playing the “Poker is a skill game” hand right now, and the incorporation of casino games and backing, waters down that argument, in his estimation.
I read an interesting article mentioning the skill game argument, from a reputable gaming attorney type:
http://www.gambling-law-us.com/Articles-Notes/unlawful-internet-gambling-act.htm
and I agree. Some of these large Poker outfits should get off their ass, and somehow hire the best mathematical minds in the country to try and promote this argument.
At this point, all looks quite bleak, so trying to get a piece back may make more sense than going after the whole pie.
Just a thought, and either way, this entire nightmare stinks !!!!!!!!

InactiveProbably better I stay out of these debates. I am a non U.S citizen and do not understand fully the political landscape. But so far it sounds pretty nasty.
