vladcizsolMemberOk guys get em while they are hot!
If you are going to stay in this business then good marketable domains will be a huge asset. The ones above have the added advantage of AGE. When a domain was orginally registered is a factor that some search engines use when assigning relevency and ranking to sites. Most of the domains I have listed for sale were purchased YEARS ago, so YOU get a jump start in the engines when you build one out!
Pick up a few domains today

InactiveHey prof – I need a sportsbook domain – what’s the advantage of buying an old one over a new one if they haven’t been developed?

vladcizsolMemberMany SEO experts believe that the date a domain was originally registered is a weight factor with the major Search Engines. There is quite a bit of evidence to support this theory.
PS: The length of time that a domain is renewed or registered for is also an SEO factor. If you register domains, always go for at least two years. I tend to do three to five years now on new domains I pick up. The conventional wisdom being that doorway pages or churn and burn spam pages are almost always registered for only one year. Businesses who purchase a multi year registration are demonstrating an intent to build a domain that has value.

winsernMemberHi Dom, I bet it was your “skill” that won the poker contest. I have an odd quistion. I have been reading this forum until my eyeballs are dried out everyday. Im trying to absorb enough information to get into online gaming—BUT— I dont seem to be getting too far- Im kinda “alot” ignorant about link building, pr4,web sites etc… I kinda have a grasp of things but really need to see things working… Typical guy!! I was wondering if any forum members “succesful”- would be willing to work with me for a day or two- paid of course…. It would be great to be on my way before I go to Cap springbreak….. What are your thoughts? Thx, Frog P.s wish there was class room training to go to, or mabey its a good idea to start one?

InactiveHi Froggy,
I am not a real good person to ask. I think PR beyond 2 or 3 is not worth the trouble, and I am not a huge friend of linking schemes. Practically no one agrees with me, and the way I do things is not necessarily good for a new site in today’s environment.
I think asking specific questions publically here in the forum will do you a lot better, you will get various opinions that way.
My advice is to concentrate on building something players will find useful first, and then worry about SEO for it.
Definitely read Google’s guidelines for webmasters here http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=35769 and the whole webmaster section here http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/ and go from there.
