InactiveGreat post!
The article is going to be everyones voices and opinions. It’s not just an article that describes how the ban took place, the votes, etc. but our opinions and feelings about this bill.
I’m telling you right now this press release will be read by hundreds of thousands of people so now is the time to express your feelings.
If you dont think press releases are successful then this one will prove you wrong. I know of people that make six figures just writing press releases and I myself have much of that knowledge and will help get this release off the ground. The release will be heard and even if it doesnt change anything, you will have let the government know what we all feel as a whole.
The release isnt going to be used for any commercial gain for the writers or any company in particular. We will cite the better articles that have been written by the bigger companies.
Please post all your guys thoughts that you want in the article.

InactiveThanks Roger,
We are also going to take the scope of the article and mold it so its not just affiliate opinions, but opinions of those others that it has effected including players, banks, las vegas casinos, etc. This will provide the readers with an insight on how its EVERYBODY’s problem, not just the people that are behind the scenes. The last thing we want is players going against us saying that we are only trying to protect the industry to make money. We need to make them know that we are in this for the love of the game and that we CARE about them.
Keep the donations coming everybody!

InactiveSelfish, quick question: May sites of contributors be mentioned in the release somehow (at the bottom)?
October 1, 2006 at 5:11 am #708225Anonymous
InactiveI think that would be perfectly fine. At the bottom we will reference the sites that contributed donations or people who expressed their feelings in the article.
Some donations have already come in and the article is growing.

Even if you can’t financially contribute, honestly I’d rather have your opinions posted in this thread that you want in the article or think is important to mention.

InactiveWould it be possible to read the PR? I will donate $20.

InactiveI appreciate your enthusiasm and if I can help in some way I would be happy to. We are powerful when we pool our resources. Forgive me, but could we see the finished product before we blindly donate to a neteller addy?

InactiveI think that will lead to greater credibility.
How many press releases including 15-20 sites/companies backing it have been sent out so far ? :smoker:
Anyway, I will contribute now. Great idea.

InactiveI think that including your link at the bottom would be a great idea. However I’m not sure about the policies of PRWeb on this issue as it may look like more of a marketing ploy to them than a press release.
Personally, I have no problems with it but somebody should look into the policies of PRWeb or provide their personal experience from writing press releases.
So far 3 donations at $20 each (minus fees lol). This is going to be very good for us and remember that there is a minimum guaranteed donation of $200 between hoursurf and I.
Oh and obviously we will be posting the finished PR when it is done.
Regards,

InactiveI just had a look at PRWeb and found the following:
“About your company. Your press release should end with a short paragraph (company boilerplate) that describes your company, products, service and a short company history. If you are filing a joint press release, include a boilerplate for both companies.”

InactiveWhat will you do with the extra money that comes in?
This can start to bring in some serious money if everyone from here donated $20.October 1, 2006 at 5:44 am #708232Anonymous
InactiveGood question bonustreak. If I am out of line I apologize but I am leary of donating anything with the endorsement of the Professor or Dominique. Just my opinion.

InactiveI think that it would be good to donate it to the PPA in order to avoid any conflict of interest. This is a non-profit thing and is only for the industry. That’s also why we only chose to ask for $20 donations.
October 1, 2006 at 5:54 am #708234Anonymous
InactiveEvery dollar donated will go to the press release. If it starts to get over the target of $400-$600 then we will post to stop donations and only submit opinions. Like I said though, we’d rather have your opinions in the article.
Prweb pretty much allows anything when you submit over $40 so reference links will be no problem at all.
I dont post much over here but am a moderator at PAW (pokeraffiliateworld.com) so I hope that helps out about feeling weary of donations.

Keep the ideas coming and hopefully Dominique or the Professor will give us a stamp of approval.

InactiveI do not question your intentions are in the right place. I have just never seen a post instructing donations to a neteller address without an introduction by a moderator. It simply is not safe. I, for one, do not know you. That is not to say this is not a worthy cause! There does need to be a plan regarding monies as bonustreak commented on besides “stop” donations.
I can only speak for myself when I say that I will wait for a staff member to direct us further on this.

InactiveHey Mojo,
That is pefectly fine. Usually we would get the moderators and owners approval but this all happened in such a short notice.
The donations are pretty close to hitting the mark. But like I said, please post what you’d like to see mentioned in the release. That means much more than any donation to the successfulness of the press release.
If its good, thought out, and we use it, your name and site will be in the body of the release. (no donation necessary)
For now, off to bed. We will be working hard to re-edit the article tomorrow for the Monday push.
