    Point well taken!

Several “favorite” sites which I had bookmarked have now been deleted from my list of favorites.

When I returned nothing was where it used to be .. everything was different .. whole new look and feel.

It was very disappointing and frustrating .. it was no longer the comfortable place I had remembered.

Thats fair comment if the site is popular. If its not then its worth a shot. I always feel its best to change things bit by bit – so many humans dont respond well to change, its better safe than sorry

This is something I worry about all the time. G&C is a dinosaur.

But I have lots of return visitors and they obviously like it there.

So I make tiny baby step changes only.

Drastic changes are only good for sites that aren’t working.

If it works, don’t fix it.

    Change the content daily.
Never change the whole style of the site.

That may not be a great move in SEO terms unless your page is classified as a “news” resource. Occasional changes are preferred.

Adding new content frequently is great, but it’s not so great to edit your content frequently. Also, as far as redesigns, I’m with everyone here…if it’s not broke, don’t fix it! As long as your site is performing, leave it alone.

Changing your whole site can also affect your search ranking. I have a site for laptops, which has good rankings, and a few months ago I decided that it needed a redesign… my search engine visitors dropped immediatly. And I thought that the site was better from a SEO standpoint. I was wrong…
Put the old site again, and the visitors returned…
