Uninstall McAfee and either get free AVG antivirus, or if you want to pay for the best get NOD32.
Also, you don’t want a third party firewall. Just use a router and if you want an additional firewall use the one built into Windows XP.
I’ll second BJF’s vote for NOD32. I recently purchased it for all my PCs. It doesn’t bring the system to a crawl like all the other anti-virus software I’ve tried.
I’ll check out NOD32 but in the meantime, I did finally figure out how to turn that part of it off.
