I find it funny that anyone would spend that much money on a domain name when you could spend it on marketing a unique name instead. For 35k you get a whole lot of advertising and with a unique name it will be far easier to remember…and of course you don’t risk loosing members/customers/clients to any of the more common TLD’s (com/net/org).

Just purchase the top 5-10 tld’s of your unique name, toss in some ads in say cardplayer and then purchase a few hundred adspots across the web….

Think Google would have been the huge success it is if it was called searchengine.info?

Very nice point Emerald…i love the Google analogy…i think the big money is totally in “branding” a name and site and not with “generic” names.

I mean who the hell is going to type in casion.info???

I see where your coming from i use .infos i prefer the .com but hey ppl will still visit a site even though a .info as long as it is worth going back to.

As for that price its mad as you say get another brandable name and promote it.
