InactivePoliticians are idiots. I really think that they are among the least intelligent of those in the U.S. Then again…. somebody has to elect them.
**Edit** – Wouldn’t that be a great letter to hand over to the media? A good laugh would be had and the ridiculousness of it all might actually come out!

InactiveThis is honestly what concerns the hell out of me. Whenever the incumbents want to pass a bill they always pull out the terrorist card. The Trumph card of the 2001th century (No pun intended). The problem is your average room temperature IQ American falls for that like flies on a piece of dog $hit. If they pull a Terrorist Trump no matter how many Americans are against it, it has a good chance to pass. I expected this type of BS out of this Admin.

InactiveSend a response to your congressman and ask him to please use verifiable facts to back up his claim. What criminals. Who has been arrested in the online gambling industry for money laundering. Exactly how is online gambling being used in the war on terror and specifically who is doing it. How are they linked.
Just don’t hold your breath waiting for a reply but if you do get a reply it will be that they can’t release that information at this time. You will not get any specific information.

vladcizsolMemberCant be!! Not in America!! We value our freedom too much to be rail roaded by politicians.
Now I suppose we could IMAGINE that something like this could occur elsewhere, in one of those evil countries the President warns us about…
I wonder….
Would a government really be capable of spending 500 billion dollars invading another country for trumped up reasons?
Once there would they spend years in a quagmire and lose thousands of troops all the while changing the story of why this was all going on? Would people fall for that?
To make it even more unbelievable lets imagine in this bizarro world that the citizens of this imaginary country turned a blind eye to all of this and actually Re-elected the administration that committed this attrocity… Is that possible?
That could NEVER happen in America, could it?
Surely people would take to the streets and put a stop to this, right?
I am sure the media would be all over this, they would have to be… Our constitution would protect US from illegal wars wouldn’t it?
I can’t imagine OUR government violating our rights, they hold the constitution sacred and are sworn to protect it…. Arent they?
They would never violate our right to free speech, or our right to privacy. Would they? I bet if they even TRIED it we would kick their asses all over the place…. Right?
They would never dream of banning online gambling… There would be riots in the streets!! Great harbingers of freedom like Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage would have their heads on a plate… Heck even the far right wing religous folks wouldnt want to see gambling made illegal. They want a fair society where people have freedom of choice just as much as the rest of us do, dont they?
Nah, cant happen here. Doesnt make any sense. Not in America.
I am going to pour myself another rum and coke and watch some TV….

Hey maybe some of the mouthy superstars can stand up and shout out for us, I bet they play online poker all the time, maybe Susansaranwrap or Clooney-the-looney{hehe Savage names} canspeak up and give this some press release.
What really ticks me off is the free advertisement Party Poker always seems to get from the media, everytime Dateline does a stupid special on online gaming they show tables with Party Poker, gee let’s give them free advertisement while telling folks how bad it is to go play online!

InactiveBoogalou–
Who is the Congressman that wrote that reply to you? I’d love to take him to task over his absolute ignorance.

InactiveWhile we are at it – why dont just ban crude oil consumption – couse that’s where they get the money from, they dont even have to launder it…
It’s just like H. Ford – “you can have it in any color as long as it’s black”

InactiveI don’t mean to sound disrespectful, but watching US politics from the outside can be incredibly amusing at times. Its so obvious that they are frightened of upsetting the moral minority you just have to laugh.
And don’t even get me on to compensation culture – lol.
10 years or so ago they used to point the finger at communism and laugh. And now look where they’re heading

Actually we ought to keep an eye on the “This Weeks Winners” lists at casinos:
R. Smith $11,099 Spring Break
O.Bin Laden $10,435 Thunderstruck
P. Clark $9,456 Major MillionsMarch 25, 2006 at 2:20 pm #687047Anonymous
InactiveI watched local news last night because they announced a blurb on nline gambling. It was two sentences about how it supports terrorism.
How can lies like that be so pervasive? Very unsettling.

Inactivecrap!
I completely agree to kwblue that politicans are idiots (not all, but almost all in US!). It’s like to stop buy OIL in Iraq, because they can send money to terrorists!
Hey, guys, we can make some type of flashmob – we can all write similar letters to government with request not to block gambling
may be they will listen to us.March 25, 2006 at 4:31 pm #687054Anonymous

Seriously, that Congressman comes across as a Major Ignorant Dolt.

InactiveBoogalou, who’s your congressman? If he’s sending an e-mail out to one of his constituents you don’t exactly have to protect his identity.
Maybe also try calling his office and informing the moron of a few basic things too. You could phrase a question something along the lines of ‘Why do you think it’s appropriate to regulate an industry you apparently know nothing about?’
I’m represented by Wexler in Florida and will be giving his office a call soon to see where he stands on the issue.

Please reply to this congressmen with some questions… 1) If you know there is illegal activity going by internet gambling websites, shouldn’t you go after them with more than an online gambling ban? 2) If you do not have direct proof, then shouldn’t you investigate further and go after these people? 3) If they are supporting terrorism, shouldn’t we find these people and attack them as we did Sadam who was not supporting terrorism? 4) Is banning US citizens from gambling online the answer to stopping the casinos and their operators from supporting terorrsim? 5) Isn’t it discrimination to shut down an entire industry because of a few bad apples?
We must keep asking questions to our congressmen and senators if we want changes. One letter or email, or signing polls is not enough to cause government officials to listen. We must continue to write press releases, post on our blogs and our websites, discuss in this and MANY other forums outside of the gambling world these issues if we really want to be heard.
