CTR = click through ratio ?

To be honest depending on the number of differnt things on a page I generally don’t expect advertiser graphics to ever do much better than that …

Like Gooner said it depends on a lot of things. If your site (or sites) are more geared towards casinos, poker, or bingo you will probably get less CTR for a sportsbook banner as the traffic isn’t looking for a sportsbook. If you have more than one banner on a page the highest you can get is 50% of impressions or less. CTR depends on a lot of things. If you have less quality traffic it will probably be less as well. Page location of their adds would also affect this. Upper page adds get more clicks per impression than lower page adds.

You can do what you want, but I would try to figure out why it’s so low, see if it has anything to do with what you are doing before getting rid of what I would personally consider the best sportbook affiliate program available. They have very good sportsbook properties, twice as many deposit options as most sportsbooks (including citadel, moneybookers, and click2pay which most sportsbooks don’t cater to) , and pay their affiliates on a regular basis.

But do what you must, this is just one portal owners 2 cents.

    Cheers

For what it’s worth, we have an 1800% CTR, but we don’t run any banners. Still haven’t made a dime from the program in over a year though. Wish we were the affiliate pulling down $148,686 last month.

I don’t believe CTR should be the criteria to push a program yes or no…

As mentioned, CTR depends on a lot of things.
In general, it does say a lot about the type of traffic on your site.

I always say, promote the books that work best on your sites, instead of blaming bad performance on the aff program or the brand you are promoting.

    Tuleja said it best…
you should consider and figure out the how the what and the why.

A banner on the left upper side is likely to get a higher CTR than a banner on the lower right.
Also, how are the brands promoted…

did you know that our brands retain players up to 22 months?
that our brands offer loyalty points on both casino AND sports activity?
Basically will do anything to get the most value out of a player?

Some food for thought here is definitely determining the right criteria upon chosing a program or brand to promote. CTR is not one of them

Don’t get too hung up in looking at the CTR at this figure varies depending on how you promote us. Look at the number of signups you are sending and the commissions you make.

If you have qualified traffic VIP Profits will ensure to help convert your traffic…

The stats backend for VIP Profits is being updated and this will make it easier for you to understand what is going on with the traffic you send.

    Simon,

What kind of traffic are you looking for to help convert to sign-up’s?

When promoting a sportsbook over a casino it is very important that you layout enough information to the player before clicking through to us, as the player will use the information you provided on the website to help him decide whether he should deposit or not.

    Some thing to do:-
Do add text links on your website
Do clearly explain the bonus on your site
Do add a sportsbook review to your site

    Some things not to do:-
Do not become a banner farm
Do not promote rediculous bonuses with no proof

    I hope this helps.

I’m one of the top 10 affiliates for VIP each month.

It took about 12 months and 1000 players before I could make any real money at VIP. I find all sportsbooks are about the same when it comes to revenue and conversions…. they both suck.
