InactiveYes prof just had a linking partner PM me and said he could not access my site. So I retyped the link and it worked.
No problems here in Canada. Did you try direct address? greek39

vladcizsolMemberGreek I tried everything.
Whats amazing is these bastards seem to KNOW whats gambling related. Its not just blocking by url its blocking by content. I cant access WinnerOnline
Plus I couldnt check stats at most of the programs. I cant access even obscure sites that I developed so this thing whatever it is KNOWS that Paigow is a form of poker and to block it!!!I can access my retail affiliate portals but not CAP!
This is REALLY scary. I am afraid that this “outage” is a dress rehearsal by Adelphia checking the new filters and guaging response by their subscribers.

InactiveComcast already did that about a month ago. I was on the phone so fast it’d make your head spin. They said they were aware of the problem and working on it. I asked for super and when I got super asked for manager. Then I explained what they were doing was censorship and would not be tolerated. It was removed within the hour. I don’t think I was the reason, but I do think I was part of the reason.. the first person I spoke to told me they had been receiving hundreds of calls about it. People have got to respond or we’re in a heap of trouble

InactiveThis is a bad turn of events. I thought you guys Stateside were covered by the 1st Amendment amongst other acts such as the Wireless Act to stop this form of censorship from happening.

InactivePut your money in DSL connection modems. Professor get a DSL connection and you won’t have that problem.
I think we are on our way for a big problem……..contact all your customers and let them know what is going on. Then have them contact their providers. We need to keep on top of this.:rasta:March 1, 2006 at 1:54 pm #685053Anonymous
InactiveI could not access neteller last night and I called them and they said to delete my cookies and then it worked……….maybe a clue?

InactiveOk guys, I think I know the problem here from talking to one of the casinos. There was a problem with an ISP in Canada – Bell Canada – which lasted for approx an hour and a half last night. This affected one of the primary routers into North America.
This affected access to many sites in North America ( US & Canada ) – even UK players had problems accessing the Prima Network last night as a result.

InactiveIt affected gambling sites only??? Wouldn’t that be a bit of a stretch??

InactiveThis is scary to hear.
It makes you think what cable companies are capable of.What if one day the DOJ stepped in and made the cable companies flip a switch. Cable companies would not do this unless the DOJ made them…. I think. I can’t see why Cox or Adelphia would do this on their own.

InactiveThat would be a scary scenerio, I would be more than little concerned. Well anyway glad to see it backup. There was a problem with Bell Canada last night. Some servers from Florida are routed to Chicago then to Toronto Canada. So maybe they had to adjust for the problem. Greek39

InactiveThis is a scarey thing, I agree it was a test run! Get the word out that everyone needs to fight this tooth and nail!!:fencing:

InactiveI live near Chicago, and I haven’t been able to get online at home for over 48 hours. It sucks!! I don’t know if my problems are related to the issues discussed here; possibly they might be. Comcast keeps telling me that there is an “outage” and that they’re “working on it,” but they don’t know when it will be fixed. WTF? I do a lot of work online every night, and I’ve been dead in the water for 2 days straight! :banger: I’m not a happy camper today. sneaky2.gi

InactiveFor about 3 months I had both dsl and cable. Cable wanted to sell so bad they gave it to me for free. I found during that time that dsl was way more reliable. No down time at all. Cable would go out anytime, and usually right in the middle of something important.
Also, dsl was cheaper and just as fast really.
As for the blocking, they may very well be checking their ability to block gambling. That anti-gambling bill was re-introduced this week, as well.
They can’t block porn because of free speech issues, but they are so worried about teenagers gambling. It’s all about the Benjamins, folks!
