IMHO the recreational gambler might be more inclined to gamble online but the hard core compulsive gamblers (Whom the CGA are representing)will not be intimated by legalities.Brad
Over the last few months I have watched many debates on T.V in regards to online gambling. The last one was on cnn. They were interviewing a anti-gambling lobbyist. His main concern was online gambling would make youths more acceptable to becoming gamble addicts.
But in any case, I am all for legalizing online gambling in the U.S and Canada. Why not I can’t even buy a news paper without being bombarded with lottery junk. Even the place I used to work the coffee machine dispense cups with a deck of cards on them.
Would legalizing Online Gambling would increase access to it? I don’t think so, I think the people who like to gamble online will do it from the privacy of their own homes regardless.
But then again, there is Vegas just waiting for online gambling to become legal. I wonder how they would promote their brand. Thats a scary thought. greek39

It does make it more accessible, but gambling is one of the less frequent addictions, most of the frequent addictions are a lot more accessible.
I think people need to be educated about gambling. If you set a $ limit and a time limit and learn to stop when you’re ahead you can gamble responsibly and if you know the rules of the game you can have hours and hours of entertainment for a very low price.

I am with Brad, Larry is very sharp and if you have not had the opportunity to meet him you should make an effort to do so in Miami. He is way on top of what is going on in our industry and is a good friend to our cause.

Regulating it will make it more accessible? Thats non-sense as things stand today! However if it were officially legalized and regulated we would most certainly see more and more operations popup, maybe thats what they mean by more accessible.
But if it were regulated what difference would that make? Like not regulating it is keeping people away; LMAO! If someone wants to gamble they will gamble.
As we might expect their opposing view is very weak.

I agree with Dom………look at PokerParty.com They are educating people on poker at PartyPoker.net and advertising on TV. They can’t or won’t advertise on TV their site PartyPoker.com because it is illegal (Gray Area).:rasta:
