InactiveGood to here im not the only one greek39
In the last 3-4 months I have made about $1000.
I am in university right now so its a good way to make a little extra money instead of getting a part time job.January 9, 2006 at 3:53 am #680135Anonymous
InactiveI agree. Wish I had this opportunity when I attended University for freakin 7 years. Keep it simple easier to control. There are alot of scams out there. Good luck with your studies!! greek39

InactiveI’ve spent a fair amount in some months and little to nothing in other months, basicaly testing out different methods of driving traffic. So far, I can’t find a strong relationship between an advertising budget and income. It seems that hard work done yourself is the best form of marketing. I think that used to be known as Gorilla Marketing.

InactiveWhen I first started, I went down the paid marketing route (PPC, etc). For the past few months, I only pursue free marketing avenues.
Although my turnover dropped slightly, my net profit jumped quite significantly, so I’m happy!

InactiveI’ve never spent a dime on advertising or promotional marketting of the site.
Paid spots? No thanks.
:dontget:And I’m happy with the site income.

InactiveAll SEO. All the Time.
I sow my advertising budget with sweat and harvest the bounty in cash.

InactiveI’ve also spent no money on my website except to buy the domain name, just SEO and my mind. I made only about $300 in the first 13 days after buying the domain because of the MSN boost in search rankings and thats all i made since july. My site is in the sandbox right now and traffic and money has been absolutly 0 since then, so ive been sitting around doing nothing for awhile except reading books on ways to get more free advertisement online and offline, and maybe take up a class at my univeristy that could benefit me lol. I know the money is out there and i dont believe in the saying that it takes money to make money. Pure knowledge and skill (and time) is everything. I was tempted to use pay-per-click advertisment, but i tried that on a different site and it sucked, so i just dont want to waste money.

InactiveI have spent zero.. not zero except for.. but zero.. I have a free page.. banners and all.. a yahoo group, an msn group, a my space group, and an ezboard. . . Now I’m not suggesting this.. it wasn’t really a plan.. More a middle of the night idea, that turned into something big! I envy all of your php boards all the time! I want a ‘real web site’ etc.. For now though, I’m just afraid to fix what isnt broken! hehe..

InactiveOH hold on … you’re not talking advertising there but site costs.
Yep …
Domain registration.
Hosting charges at $35 per month.
A bit of site developemnt.
Some writer fees.
A few competition prizes.I’d say that the site, + content, + development costs $2K-$3K each year now.

InactiveI have spent only for the domain name and tried a PPC for $25, that was all my “physical” costs.
But… as my profession is online marketing and development I have built the site, manage it, look for quality links, write the content, read poker books to understand more the industry..etc.. so I devote a lot of time to it (and my time is very expensive for my clients, so if I take my hourly rate, I would end up with a nice sum to charge to myself..
)I think the way to go is SEO and to form a quality site where visitors want to come back.

Inactivesipka (Off topic),
Did you used to play 15-30 Omaha Hi-Lo on PokerStars with the same picture of your daughter (when she was younger) as your Avatar there?
