    Nick,

This may be a localized problem with the link, as you said. To be sure, you can clear all cookies, history and temp files. Then also try ad-aware, spybot and spyware blaster (all at download.com) Also, try doing a full anti-virus search using what you have (you can also try avast and AVG which are free.)

Here’s another anti-spyware program that you may want to use. It has a very good reputation.

    Thanks guys

I’m using those programs, but they’re all pretty much the same, they identify problems, “remove” them, but the same problems seem to reappear, otherwise people would have no future use for them.

I’m running the Ad Aware right now

What i was wondering is if there is a specific directory that they normally hit, that way i can go to the location and just delete it

Here are my 2 favorites I swear by them..

Use the CWshredder first..(last merlin version)

Then use the Hijack this one…now with this be very careful if you do not know what your doing when they give you the list of hijackers, go to a support forum and copy your whole logfile they give you and ask for help..if you want you can send me your hijack log file in a private im and I will tell you what is safe to remove.

I may be stating the obvious but disable “system restore” and try running your search in safe mode.

    :blahblah:

Thanks for that Bonus, very useful

I think i ran everything there is now, i deleted over 15 000 files and 10GB, found most of it by typing C:Uploads in my url bar, hidden files

My computer is working a lot better, but still, i could not fix that problem, and it’s not your usual search assistant crap, i have no idea what this is, but there is an affiliate link attached to the url, something like stupidsite.com/?=DNAME, dname is in the url of all of them, and the sites are always different that i get redirected to

I will send you my hijack this log file, which when saved, is actually different than the original readout, there are more programs

    Thanks for taking a look

This sounds like one of those home made trojans one comes across once in a while.

I would approach all the sports programs with this to see who done it…. some sports affiliate it seems.

Sorry to be a know it all sound off but THIS IS WHAT YOU MUST DO:

Download Hijack This which is a tracker that will produce a saveable list of all your running processes (running processes are necessary but in here the baddies also reside):
    info is here:
    http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

    Direct download is here:
    http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip

Open and run this file then post your problem and the hijack this file here:
    http://forums.spywareinfo.com/

These guys will then give you a step by step removal procedure.

Well, i got rid of it

    Thanks for all your suggestions

Ultimately, there is only one thing that works in situations like this, i will put it up in case anyone has a similar problem

    go to your C:WindowsSystem32
and delete all .exe files that were recently installed on your PC, and not signed by Microsoft Corporation, and reboot

    This fixed my problem
