InactiveI’m auctioning the site on Ebay (here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7516174411&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT ) so those that are interested and have questions can view the listing. Maybe I’ll actually sell it,…lol

InactiveNow I’m curious… why are you thinking about selling your site? (If you don’t want to answer because the reason is personal or private, that’s okay. I was just curious as to why someone would sell a money-making site).

InactiveWell honestly, Engineer I have thought long and hard about this one. I have a business opportunity that requires quite a substantial investment in another industry and I am very excited to get into it, however, I need more capital. I love my site and all the work I’ve put into it over the years and all the great people I’ve met along the way. I’m going to be sad to see it go (if and when it does,) but I feel at this point it may be time to move on. Hope that answered your question!

InactiveAhh, okay — I understand now. Thanks for the explanation. :hattip:
Good luck with the auction — I hope it sells at a high price. If the site brings in 50k a year, it should fetch a decent amount, I would think!

InactiveI dont think you’re going to fetch much unless you can provide stat tracker stats, or at least examples of where the website ranks in search engines.

Inactiveits looking a good little auction in progress, is the value of a website/business usually 3 years profit? if so you can expect a tidy sum at the end of the sale.

Inactivecompany price = 2 years profit, for medium web sites – price is something like 6 month profit.

InactiveActually I have seen sites sell for all kinds of money.
Sometimes there is a healthy, professionally prepared expansion plan that can mean a lot more money. Sometimes the site comes with one huge account, sometimes with many small ones. This can affect the price. Sometimes they come without accounts.
The type and source of traffic will also affect price, depending on the buyer’s experience and plans.
Basically, a site is worth what someone will pay for it.
I think wufu will see some more action when the auction nears closing.

InactiveThanks for the encouragement guys, my heart is breaking a bit (I’m going to miss it,) but I am very excited too! If someone knows what they’re doing, they will probably do much better than I did with it. :turn:
Nice looking site by the way
Thank you, Rooster!

InactiveI would say your auction is going extremely well. 21K so far. In the real world, businesses that are approached for acquisition are generally offered 2-2.5x yearly revenue, depending on the type of business (this is a professional services example, for which I am familiar with).
It is a different situation when you are actively trying to sell your business, which gives you a weaker position since you are eager to sell. Overall, it is quite interesting to see what the final value placed on your site will be. 6 months revenue seems a fair bottom-line price.
