Really classy there man.
Hey everyone, look at this guys robots.txt file.
User-agent: *
Disallow: /rate/
Disallow: /feedback/
Disallow: 94303Directory.php
Disallow: /casino-links-exchange/
Disallow: /cgi-bin/A link exchange with this site is utterly, and completely useless…for you, not him. It’s not hard at all to spot either. When a sub-page linked from a PR6 homepage has 0 PR, something is up.
You’d think that someone with 160+ posts here at these forums would have more dignity and respect for fellow forum members than to try to scam them into ‘exchanging’ links with him.
Grow the #%@! up man.

InactiveWould someone mind explaining, for the technically challenged like myself, what MrMcGee is saying, and why it’s good detective work?
Thanks,

InactiveI am very non tech, but it appears to me that robots are not allowed on that link page, hence the links are useless.
I will not be listed on links pages anyway.
I only do hand entered links, visible on the bottom of the index page or a secondary, topically targeted page.
If your site has a low PR, I may still be interested if you can provide me with visitor stats.

InactiveThanks Dominique. I guess I just couldn’t decipher that it didn’t allow robots.

Inactivepokermonger wrote:Thanks Dominique. I guess I just couldn’t decipher that it didn’t allow robots. There is no indication here that robots.txt is blocking spiders to that section of the website.
Only certain directories, such as cgi-bin, are blocked. These aren’t directories you’d want spidered anyway.
The links page is listed in google, altavista, msn, etc.. thus it is going to be spidered.

Inactivejust one more point of clarification, just because a site implements php that does not disallow the spiders from spidering does it? I see lots and lots of sites use php.

InactiveHi, sorry. I did write this:

but I guess it was buried with some other statements above.
