In my experience having gambling related content on porn sites isn’t a good idea. People looking for porn aren’t interested in gambling.
Also, the porn industry is just like gambling. Not promoting it won’t stop the money flow because the demand will stay. So just take as large a peice of it as you can.

But I have had experience advertising gambling sites on high traffic porn sites and I can tell you that conversions are virtually non existent.
It’s a totally different audience.
The only kind of porn traffic that MIGHT work is if you place links inside a paid membership site because at least those guys have spent SOME money online. Most porn site traffic is guys looking for “free samples” … not the kind of guys who would spends hundreds of dollars per month gambling online.

depends on what you do with the traffic. Yes, its not good conversions. probably like 1 in 10,000 or worse.
but if you concentrate on the traffic and not on conversions, you can trade that traffic for better traffic in a number of different ways.
not something i’d say was a best bet for spending your time on however, but if you already have the traffic; it isn’t worthless.
Never heard of anyone playing with themselves while they practised basic strategy Blackjack…..

I have seen some porn gambling banners and couldn’t stop laughing – that would hinder conversions on both counts. :rollover:
I’m surprised no one’s tossed in some craps lingo like, “Eight the hard way.”
i know this is old thread, but i really would like to know what is average CPV (Click-Per-View/Impression) for gambling banners on adult sites…
Right now have some adult spaces with 3-4 PR, and want to try gambling ads…

I ran an advert on The Hun for a month in 2006 – millions of impressions, an “ok” clickthru rate, but absolutely no increase in signups or revenue that I could spot. So ditched it.
I did a “dynamic” banner which basically meant I changed it regularly throughout the month and tried different ideas. From memory the Signup bonus banners got most clicks, unsurprisingly, but still no obvious traffic.
I wouldn’t bother with it. I could only see it being profitable if it was on either the playboy site or a top ranking porn stars site. Free sites are not worth bothering with.

I have a funny story, I left myself signed into an email account at an internet cafe someone logged in after me onto my hotmail account sent an email to all the people in my account saying along the lines of ” I am really drunk I am viewing lots of porn sites…..” the sticky mouse quote came into it somewhere and lets just say the people in the address book including the local vicar at the time were not impressed one of my embarrasing life moments.
