Doesn’t matter. It’s pretty much only webmasters and IT guys who know what the tag is for. If they’re nice they won’t care they’re helping you earn a living just like them. If they’re mean they’ll know the tag is there weather you try and hide it or not.

And these are probably the same people that use Firefox because they are jealous of Microsoft’s earning power so they probably won’t be able to view your site anyway :D

No, I like to hide the affiliate tag in the link.

I mean visitors might wonder what all this means behind the .com/….

That’s why I thought hiding them on my site.
But when the affiliate tag is visible on the partner pages…

What you cpould do Cat is launch th ecasino with an OnClick minus the address bar. IE:

    That should do it….

    Cheers

    Simmo!

    I totally agree.

Resizing their navigator window and removing their address bar and status bar would make the visitor very happy indeed. :nono:

I agree, there is no need to hide the affiliate links – when people (normal people, not webmasters) click on the link, their attention is focused on the text link/banner itself, not on the bar below, as for a webmaster is more of a habbit, however, I would never click on a link that doesnt give me info where I will go :)

I agree with you all. But I think that it is worth hiding the link anyway (if it is posible).
Please tell me…. how many times when you search for smth you have to face that the banner or link in the search taes you to some porno site instead of the site you’re looking for? I am talking about dorways… Due to that many people pays attention to the link. If they see some abrakadabra in the link…. they’ll refuse going there. :rasta:
    It is my opinion.

    I use a simple redirect, ie. yourdomain/redirect/xxxcasino.htm

So do most of us, but it has nothing to do with hidding the aff tag, couse it will still show on the casino page :D

Actually, it has everything to do with it. Yes, it will (sometimes) show on the casino’s landing page but the visitor has already been tagged as ‘yours’ for the purposes of credit by then. What many people are worried about with leaving their aff tag visible in the tracking link is that visitors will simply copy/paste the link into the address bar and remove the tailing tag.

I am hiding all the tags in my new pages.

If getting for example an email that sounds interesting and mouse over the link to the company but find some .com/wsnfwqnbwq257893585295.html I wonder if that might be a link to a site containing a virus or something else I don’t want and rather don’t click on it.

We like to hide them with a simple mouseover script that also acts as a bit of a marketing tool buy replacing the content in the browser window to “Visit Casino ABC” instead of the affiliate link

I think that’s what most do .. however, simply put the mouse over the link and hold down the left click and you can see the link anyway .. so kind of pointless I suppose.

However, as others have pointed out … webmasters realize these things, but many people online are not all that technically savvy … they’re busy watching the pretty pictures load. .. :1circling

I can’t even tell you how many people type my URL in the search box at Google and Yahoo rather than just putting it in the address bar … go figure.
