InactiveI really like the folks at Fortune Affiliates, but I just haven’t been able to make any money with them to speak of. Maybe this is a factor in that.

Guestwell I checked today and it was better. But I can see where if I were somebody that played there all the time how quickly I would tire of sitting down to my favorite slot game and waiting on each spin about 2 min time.

InactiveI too play and sometimes ‘test’ the casinos now and then. I do agree that sometimes the slots can be painfully slow, whereas, I have to go back to the games lobby and reload the slot game! The slowest one was from a casino provided by CasinoProfitShare. Fortune Affiiates casinos were just as bb1 said, slow-but then on another session they weren’t. Brightshare casinos were much faster overall for me. Just my 2 cents on this topic

GuestThe slowest one was from a casino provided by CasinoProfitShare.
its funny you should mention them, I don’t promote them, but I did happen to test one of their casinos that same night and yes, they were slower than Fortune.
on a side note to this thread; I would add that personally,… I have begun to expect; when the slots games reel for an extended period of time; to not expect to win that spin.
Now I realize that its because lets face it; you’re going to lose more times than you win; so its easy to understand how one could easily begin to come to such conclusion.
but the thing is; is that here on one hand you have the casino that has the slot games that are slow; therefore they have the spins that are extended, which I now have begun to associate with “well I’m not gonna win anything on this spin because its taking too long to return results”.
Now whether that is true; or not; doesn’t really matter because the fact is; is that I now associate long spins with a sure loss.
Compare that to a casino that never has the slow spins; and you get:
well I can go play at casino 1; who has those damn times when the slots spin and spin; and I know I’m not going to win when that happens;
or
I can go play at casino 2 where every spin remains associated with “I could win on this one…”
and I am certain everyone can finish where I’m going with that.
the extended spins leaves one too much room for doubt; wondering … was it delayed so that the results could be altered before they reach my PC?
It doesn’t matter whether there is any basis for fact in that matter or not; what matters is that I am going to choose to play somewhere that I KNOW isn’t having the chance to alter the results before I see them.
this is a much bigger problem than I think many places give it credit.
I chose Fortune (and profitshare) simply because they happened that night; but this is a problem for all in the industry to keep policed well, for the reasons mentioned above.

InactiveGood points bb1. Anything that can make already suspicious players more concerned is bad.
On slow play: I don’t know how Microgaming handles updating the software, but it’s possible that the reason things are so slow is that your bandwidth is mostly busy downloading updated software, particularly if this is a fresh install.
I know back when I was on a dial-up connection, Playtech software was horribly slow until it had managed to finally download all the games. After that it was quite fast. Since I knew what was going on, it wasn’t that big a deal to me. But I’m sure 90+% of players don’t know why it’s so slow. I bet they lose a lot of players because of this. How long would you hang around if you thought that it would take 2 minutes to play a single hand?
I like the fact that Playtech slowly installs the entire casino, but I wish they would somehow make it smart enough to do so slowly enough to not impede game play while it happens. Now, if a player clicks on a specific game which isn’t yet installed, all other download activity should pause while the requested game gets full use of the bandwidth available to download.

Ditto!
I play RTG and Global Player often, the main reason I don’t play Micro is that it’s slowwwwwwwwwwwwwww, for video poker anyways.January 9, 2005 at 5:04 am #659924Anonymous

Generally it seems VERY often when I’m playing and the reels spin for longer than say…30 seconds, I almost always come up a loser on that particular spin. I have thought that perhaps there was a logical reason such as bandwidth and internet connection, but it could be the latter and I wonder how exactly that could be policed?

I agree.
I’d very much like to offer an explanation such as I stated earlier, that we lose more often than win and thus when facing the longer spins; its to be expected to not win; and therefore we should expect to be conditioned to think this whenever the longer spins appear.
but that just doesn’t cut it.
There should be some wins amongst the many losses, but that to my experience isn’t the case.
Upon having made this conclusion, I have of course, paid much closer attention to when I get the long spins; and I can say that I’ve yet to experience any kind of big win, and I can only remember one time I had a small win.
the thought crossed my mind that there might be a fail-safe that just always gives a loser when the spins are longer, but it is made up for down the line.
but that would go against the randomness that is suppose to be involved in the results.

InactiveI’m by no means an expert here, but I know from “testing” microgaming, that when the reels are spinning slow, I have to close any open window on my desktop. Before their last two installs of new games, it didn’t matter what I had open, but now it effects….slows those spins right down.
