Do you think is ok to promote a casino (Phoenician Casino)
wich send your traffic to their portal (onlinegambling(.)com)?
(An other question: iNet Bet with their third party board promotions, etc)
Thanks.Regards,
vd752June 24, 2004 at 8:24 pm #650891AnonymousGuestI don’t understand the question.
June 24, 2004 at 8:36 pm #650894AnonymousInactiveok, the problem is: we send players from our portal ONE to the casino
ONE … casino ONE sends players to their portal TWO and then to other casinos 2,3,4…I asked about your opinion: it’s ok to advertise such casinos?

On the other hand (Sunny group case) – if I send a players to Casino Fortune and then the player receive an invitation from casino manager to play at Mapau (palyer don’t click my link) – they pay me the commission for Mapau too – intergroup marketing.Any comments?
June 24, 2004 at 9:08 pm #650896AnonymousGuestIf we send a player to a casino and then then send them to a portal where they may click on a lick to yet another casino – without our aff id.
We send them in traffic in good faith that this traffic is used to recruit new customers at their casino(s).
IMO it’s a breach of our agreement with the aff program.
However, they’re welcome to send traffic to my portals
that would be different!June 24, 2004 at 9:13 pm #650897AnonymousInactiveHow is Phoenician sending the traffic we send them to onlinegambling.com. Just because they have a person associated with both properties does not mean they are taking from our traffic sent to the casino it self. That would be stupid of a casino to do because who would want to promote for a casino using our traffic for their gain. I’m guessing that they are doing that for their own marketing and ranking which is nothing really wrong towards affiliates? just my opinion.
June 24, 2004 at 9:22 pm #650901AnonymousInactivewell, must casinos send traffic to GOM, gambling.com, etc…
Nostalgia casinos > onlinegambling(.)com (link on home page)
Inetbet > The Pig Post
brandy > Online Gambling Forums
etc…
I have only asked for a few opinions.
Thank you.June 24, 2004 at 9:22 pm #650902AnonymousInactiveI don’t mind my traffic going wherever it wants to as long as it wears proper tags.
I am not a friend of casinos running portals. That is definitely an issue in my eyes.
Casinos taking our traffic and sending it to their own portals – without tags – that would cause me to want to boycott.
June 25, 2004 at 12:38 am #650911AnonymousInactivePhoenician has a small link on the bottom of their homepage that links to onlinegambling.com. That’s why I stop sending them traffic because of that.
June 25, 2004 at 1:37 am #650915AnonymousInactiveCan this thread be moved to the adriches section? I’d like to hear the opinion of a representative on this issue.
And for the record, I don’t think any casino should be able to link to another portal. While i’m still receiving money from Phoenician I will continue to promote them. However I will not be rushing into promote Nostalgia until I hear a satisfactory explanation.
June 25, 2004 at 6:30 am #650928AnonymousInactivethese links will be removed
it was purely part of a link exchange process but i understand the point that is being made. i doubt wether any affiliates woudl have lost any traffic to these links.
cheers
dean
June 25, 2004 at 7:27 am #650929AnonymousGuestYou know, there are a LOT of casinos with links to better-known portals at the bottom of the landing page.
I’ve seen dozens of links to gambling.com, for example.
I didn’t know we were talking about a link on a page. I thought it was something more sinister.
June 25, 2004 at 12:56 pm #650938AnonymousInactiveI also didn’t realize it was an SEO link.
I am opposed to casinos taking our traffic and moving it to portals they own without crediting us for signups there.
If I find something like that going on I will make lots of noise.
June 25, 2004 at 12:56 pm #650939AnonymousInactiveAgreed.
Dean runs one of the better affiliate programs out there, and he’s shown more concern for affiliate opinions than just about any affiliate manager I’ve seen. I’m impressed that he pulled the link down so quickly in response to this thread’s concern.
It’s a rare affiliate manager and a rare casino program that would handle something like that so quickly.

He is doing a superb job!
June 25, 2004 at 1:52 pm #650944AnonymousInactiveI agree about Dean and his intentions always being good that’s why I had no issue with that affiliate of that site.
Vd does bring up a very good point though regarding casinos and them singling out certain sites while sending a bunch of traffic to those sites. I find this highly unacceptable. Example, I spent money and time promoting a casino and send a new player to this casino. That player signs up. Next thing you know that casino is now sending an email to all their players including the ones I send their way stating that if they visit “ABC AFFILIATES” site and post a message or send them the votes and post a message they get a free bonus. That is completly not okay in my eyes and casinos practicing this behaviour should stop immediately.
