    Professor,

Clearly your frustration speaking and you are right. It is very frustrating. It is the crime of the 21st century.

We are probably one of your sites that are under attack. We received a letter and immediately received the huge amounts of traffic. Even to such an extend where the island was struggling. Good thing is that when the island is struggling, you get attention from the government. I know that everything is being done to minimize the damage. It will probably be very hard to stop these attacks. But companies can work towards minimizing the impact they have.

Clicks in PPS C SE do get lost, every affiliate person that tells you otherwise is lying. We all lose business because of it.

I know from our testing that if visitors can get through, all is tracked. However don’t ask how many clicks that might have cost.

I see no other option but staying on top of your marketing and postpone where possible.

Our visitors can always call in to place their bets, all is still tracked. Hoever updating the stats might be delayed as the transfer of data between the systems is locked as well.

If you have any further questions on specific VIPprofits merchants, do contact us at [email protected]

Thanks and good luck to all!

If nobody would pay those guys they would quit.

Every place that pays is making it very hard for the industry to survive.

These criminals are working right into the hands of those who want to see online gaming shrivel up and die.

    It makes you wonder.

Like Dominique said … the problem is exasperated by the fact that some operations are paying the bad guys so the online extortion business continues to flourish … they should instead put the money to more preventative measures.

I guess some smaller operations are more vulnerable to this. Once you pay you are done.
That is why we will never pay. It might hurt, but we will get back !

    Hi,

well there comes a time in everyone’s life when they absolutely must make a stand or they will become a stepping stone for all others the rest of their life.

that time for you (us) comes everyday. It is just a matter of to what extent and how much of yourself your willing to give in order to get.

But here is the big thing to consider. These attacks will eventually be stopped in some way or another, but the most likely answer to the problem is truly not to pay extortionist.

WHEN that happens; to what direction do you suppose these people without scruples will go?

I’ll tell you. Right back to the people that caved first!

Right now they may be / may not be keeping their word. But I promise you this; if you paid once, you WILL pay again.

You may not know it is to the same people, but trust me, it is!

Look at what you’re dealing with and wake up! These sort of tactics are not exclusive under any circumstances.

If they did it to somebody else, WHAT the hell makes you think you’re different?

If you don’t stand up for yourself and fight to keep the ground you’ve covered already, you will never succeed. You will stay lost in an unending whirlpool that only gets worse the further in you get.

Like it was said above. we all are victims here. I’m willing to do what it takes to succeed past the moment.

So what I’m saying is; is everyone PLEASE don’t turn your backs on companies that are under attack and by the mere fact they aren’t online; proving that they aren’t giving in.

I know its precarious situation that leaves us open to loss more than the casinos themselves, because its a damn handy excuse for explaining away lost income (tracking issues, etc).

And you guys know I’m a prick about that stuff. But after reading the Prof’s post and giving it hard consideration (because at first I was just going to say we need to keep an eye closely on things and warn each other when we see a site/program go down) – that we remember why these sites are down.

Now I still suggest we need to keep an eye closely on things and warn each other when we see a site/program go down to help minimize the loss – but also be as quick to put them back up when they have weathered the storm.

    that make sense?

Perfect Sense BB1 and an Excellent Idea

Lets do this, when some one notes a program or casino is down PLEASE take a moment to let everyone else know with a quick post here at CAP. I will create an area if need be.

It wont help with static banners on our sites, but at least we can temporarily turn off PPC campaigns we have running which are being effected.

Every little bit helps, lets face it traffic aint cheap and any clicks lost in space cant be retireved. Lets at least try to minimize the damage these bastards are causing us all.

well I guess you all know this, but in case anybody didn’t, it has been 2 or 3 days since I have been able to enter Intercasino’s casino branch. I haven’t tried the poker room yet even though I keep meaning to – just went and am playing (and kicking butt I might add, won 2 pots of $150+ at the 5/10 table within 3 hands – started me off with pp aces :)

Since I have it already on my PC (intercasino – the casino part); I will check at least once a day (and probably twice, since I turned their bonus money from the poker room into a decent bankroll and was considering a cash-out when it became impossible to get in.

I get the same message(s) saying can’t access at the moment; or something else to that effect; but they all end in the same manner: “please try again in a few minutes”.

Which tells me its exactly as the Prof said; a message that ends in that manner means that the casino does truly think you’ll be able to get inside again in a few min.

which of course; has proven not to be the case in this matter.

The extortionist must really be giving Intercasino hell. the Prof said it in terms of Partnerlogic; are all their casinos un-accessible? I’ve only tried Intercasino.

It might be a good idea to let the players know what is going on so they will return to our casinos again when the attack stops; otherwise they may think the casino has just become inaccessible – which won’t hurt us too much with the players that have money in their accounts; because you know they will be emailing and find out that way; but players with no money in the account might not bother to check back if they keep getting rejected when trying to login.

    Their bingo site is working.
At least, I got in far enough to be told I didn’t have enough money in my account and redirected to where I could deposit.

    :p

I would like to apologise for the technical difficulties that have stopped you accessing PartnerLogic over the last 12 hours. The problem has been due to internet connectivity.

PartnerLogic is pleased to announce the problem has now been resolved and all sites are up and running. Once again we offer our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.

I think it’s important that casino sites who go down notify their affiliates that they’re down.

I pay for 99% of my traffic, and if I’m paying for traffic that goes nowhere, I’m upset.

I understand the casinos are being victimized by the extortionists, but what I don’t understand is why the affiliate managers can’t shoot a quick email to the affiliates to let them know their site’s down.

Unless the DOS attack interferes with their ability to send emails.

I know that when I was an affiliate account manager (and it was a different industry BTW), I emailed all my major accounts as soon as I knew there were ANY problems with our servers.

I think it’s also important to explain things in the players’ forums.

I found one post on the meister’s where an InterCasino player thought his/her account was locked.

I imagine that a lot of players are thinking the same thing, and that’s not good for the industry, either.

Lots of playtechs down right now: Tropez, Delrio, Swiss, Casino Las Vegas, Club Dice, USA, New York? Maybe another attack?
