InactiveIve also noticed that this update is one of the more brutal ones ….when will it ever end…this one has massacred a number of my top 10 rankings…ahhhh…got what the previous updates failed to filter out.

InactiveThese are the best gambling results ever.
http://www.google.com/search?num=10&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&safe=off&c2coff=1&q=casino+affiliate+programshttp://www.google.com/search?num=10&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&safe=off&c2coff=1&q=blackjack
http://www.google.com/search?num=10&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&safe=off&c2coff=1&q=baccarat
Still some weak stuff but mostly very solid sites.
I wonder why real.com calls that page “blackjack” though.

InactiveHow anyone can deny that google is not using a filter is beyond me. All google.com and google.co.uk searches are going through a filter. To look at what the results should look at search from:
I also did a test. I had a website merchantaccountaffiliateprograms.com ranking high for merchant account affiliate programs.
I started an adword campaign and the day later that website was gone from the search results. Of course that website was not gone from google.se since the filter must only apply to spanish websites.

http://www.google.se/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=blackjack
These are showing the same results. What is an example search where there are differences?
There are some slight differences between datacenters but nothing major that I can see.
The latest change is further evidence of a dramatic algorithm change. Google has always used filters of many sorts, but on the whole these results are obviously not being filtered in any special. They are being ranked much differently.

InactiveTry: adult affiliate programs & satellite affiliate programs
I’m also showing a record number of hits from such sources as hotbot, altavista, and msn. Clearly users are not impressed.

InactiveApparently they just fixed the bug that I mentionned. This is where you could see the true results on the .es version of google. I didn’t discover this either. I found it mentionned on seochat.com and tested it out myself.

Obviously google is hiding the truth, and the truth is that money talks.

Inactiveantoine, maybe its just me, but try refreshing this search a few times over the space of a few minutes:
http://www.google.se/search?q=adult+affiliate+programs+&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=sv&meta=
I saw the very different results, but then they changed to the same results as .com. I assume this is because the “other” results are on one of their datacenters now, maybe temporarily or maybe as a test.
Again, I don’t see any evidence of a filter. The results are totally different, with those “other” results looking a lot like the results for anchore text:
http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&safe=off&c2coff=1&q=allinanchor%3Aadult+affiliate+programsI can’t get the “other” results to come up on .se now so I can’t be sure, but they look similar to the anchor text results, which would probably mean the old anchor text algorithm was being shown.

InactiveMaybe it isn’t a filter, no one can really know. But if it is based on an entirely new algorithym it seems to be specializing in penalizing one type of website while rewarding another type. The sad thing is that it seems to be penalizing relevancy.

InactiveI guess our posts crossed in the night. I’m not as familiar with the two areas you posted, so the results may suck there, but looking around at the topical gambling areas, the results are just so much better, and it is also obvious what is being valued less now — tons of links. The .md sites are the easiest ones for people to notice. Tens of thousands of links from their own tens of thousands of self-generated pages had them at the top of everything, but now they have mostly fallen a few dozen spots.

InactiveSeems like Google is still dancing, noticing results on www2 and www3 a lot different than last night.

Still #2 for “Video Poker”
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=video+poker
Dropped to #9 for “slots”
http://www.google.com/search?q=slots&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&c2coff=1
Their parent site for “online casinos” is still at #7
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&c2coff=1&q=online+casinos
They dropped because they removed all the internal cross-linking. They had removed the thousands of non-sense travel links prior to even obtaining the placement in the SERPs.
Notice that the #1 spot for most of these terms are now occupied by another site(s) using the same crosslinking scheme that worked for the .md sites.
Excessive internal crosslinking should be penalized and not rewarded!
I have stated since the first sight of “Florida” SERPs that this is in fact a commercial “FILTER” – You will not change my mind – least not yet. Clearly connected to “competitive terms” Just count the number of AdWord ads on a search – if its more than 5-6 its most likely going to be ran through the filter! If the search Terms/phrases are on SERPs with 3 pages of AdWords IT WILL be ran through the filter with out a doubt.
Make me think otherwise

InactiveSome of the .md sites still do well, while for more competitve terms like blackjack (#18) and poker (#20) they fell more.
Penalizing crosslinking isn’t a good idea, but putting a dampening factor on the effect is a good idea, and Google already does that to some degree. Perhaps they should do more. Some people here would disagree with you.
“Make me think otherwise.”
It should be easy. Adwords is penny ante stuff in this context. Right now for Google adwords revenue is totally irrelevant to them. Remember, Google is owned by a few folks. This is not some corporate enitity where money made or lost isn’t that important to any individuals. A small number of people control Google, what it does, and get the huge bulk of the rewards.
Everything about Google now is focused on the IPO. They have been waiting to roll out these better results (and likely will tweak them even better twice more) just in advance of their IPO. What is at stake there is literally billions and billions of dollars.
To put it in perspective, suppose you had a $200,000 home that you owned outright and were going to sell. Would you then intentionally break out all the windows, paint it puke orange, set fire to the carpets, and take out all the plumbing fixtures… just because someone would give you $500 to do it?
Not a chance in the world.
Adwords conspiracy theories focus on Google maybe making five million dollars while putting twenty BILLION at risk.
The decisionmakers at Google right now don’t give one tenth of a crap about adwords right now!

InactiveJust curious Classics… what is your website? Was interested in what you are doing for SEO yourself.
